It feels insane, NGL. I just put Murphy down again (and being able to hear his voice, while predictable in terms of content given the context clues available in his area even on NG, is just heartbreaking), and while I haven't died yet, holy crap is everything hitting like a trucker hopped up on NoDoz at 3 am on the turnpike.

I'll get it handled, but the 90 degree angle on the difficulty curve is intense. Add to that that my Sword of Dragons was +5 at the end of NG, so my damage is capped apart from buffing Technique, and this should be a serious challenge.

Yeah I just killed the mega ♥♥♥♥♥ herself and will be fighting Simon very shortly. I will say I didn't have to rely on my spectre buddy till Victor so I am happy with that. I solo'ed Simon on NG so will probably summon just so I can move on to NG++, get that 3rd ending, and be done. Don't even want to think how Nameless is going to be at that level.

What's your overall defence? I'm sitting at 200+ DEF and 51 Damage Reduction Rate (basically full LADA set + Iron Wall amulet), and I can tell that with these stats damage increase from NG+ is negligible.

Oh boy, you're gonna have a blast in ng+3 (if you intend on playing it)
Fought nameless puppet the day before yesterday on it and oh man.
Some of his moves can eat like 90% of your health ez (with Max vitality)
And just to add to my pain, i gorgot to pick up a certain item on my first playthrough that would have given me my only missing achievement, so now i'm going through ng+4 just for it. Pain. XD

I don't think you've been paying much attention then. Enemies in NG+ do like double the damage. Single hit from a minor mob was hitting me for 30% with a single hit throughout the entire game. My damage reduction was about 40% and I had slightly less than 200 defense (closer to 190 or so for most part). Their combos 4-5 hit could easily kill me if they fully hit and getting hit by 1 small fry with another one nearby was pretty much a death sentence.

Moved on to NG+2 now and small fry mobs are doing about 40% of my health damage in a single hit (and this is with 50 vitality and over 200 defense now. Again a significant increase in damage, though not as significant as the jump to NG+1.

Not that I'm having a whole lot of trouble since they die pretty quickly as well, but the damage is pretty insane.

yes the forth playthrough does not seem to have any more stuff, +2 items is the most you get;

i love the 2 extra p organs they added in ng+ and ng+2

but holy hell did i feel OP in ng+2; enemies hit like trucks but you could pummel them equally well

I agree. I have 252 defense as of the end of my NG+ run and at 35 vitality I can eat 40% or more if I take a direct hit. Definitely one of the harsher NG+ experiences I have had. I ran bloodborne to NG+5 and that was hard but no where near this.

NG+ is definitely punishing with damage. I got stuck on the harder bosses like Laxasia for about 30 minutes depending on the build. Going to NG++ is just unlocking god-mode though. The p-organ perks are nutty. I actually didn't like it as it just got so easy at that point.
Abysswalker Oct 6, 2023 @ 4:36pm
NG+ is not too bad. You should know every boss and you can level up easily. Going NG++ is where the real fun begins though. It comes with the most important p-organs in the game. You will basically be always light weight and you can block red attacks AND you can use a fifth amulet. Really cool stuff. I always wanted From Software to make NG+ worth it like that but so far (in terms of soulslikes) only Dark Souls 2 attempted this.

In NG+2 myself, I find that the damage and health increase in NG+ feels much more significant in the first half of the game than the second. It starts feeling more samey at Swamp Monster from my experience. I used the same exact weapon on Nameless Puppet (Mjolnir +10 & Booster Glaive) and the fight felt pretty much the same, and ended with the same result (I won, duh).

I'm also running a quality (or """""Cricket""""") build, and I find it's flat out better than pure motivity/technique. Similar to Dark Souls 3 on launch before the infusion rework.

btw do you feel like the bosses deal less damage than the trash enemies? I swear 1 hit from one of those white puppets is putting me in a wheelchair but the bosses don't feel that crazy.

Definitely my experience so far. Parade Master hit a bit harder than stock NG, but the white-coated puppets and the larger, non-respawning "brute" models definitely drank both *their* pre-workout and mine before turning up for work.

Murphy didn't seem to hit hard at all, other than his "electric judgment" and fury attacks.

Still wearing endgame gear from NG, but hopeful some of the + equipment will start paying dividends soon. I just wish it were possible to upgrade weapons further.

Nah, you will have to wait until lategame to swap for the exact same eq with +1 on it. It is a lot heavier though so be ready for that. One tier lower +1 defensive items aren't even on the level of the last tier NG.

NG+ and especially NG++ felt like a breeze. I ran with a quality Wrench/ Baton build for both. NG++ in particular felt so easy because I took out every boss on the first try, even Lux and Simon. I had all my P Organ slots unlocked, including the one that lets you block Fury Attacks. So with my massive health bar and stamina I just tanked everything. I also made sure I bought all the new gear to get more defenses.

I suggest going over your build and maybe looking up some YouTube videos for suitable NG+ set-ups.

35 vitality is really low especially for NG+. Enemies and bosses do more damage, but it seems reasonable since leveling is so easy in NG+ and the game expects you to have hit the cap on stats including vitality. I would
