Romeo need to chill out!
Love the game, love the asthetic and the fight, but my lord, Romeo needs to chill out. When the barrage of 8+ attacks comes, I have no chance to dodge or parry everything and it's usually when I die. How do you guys deal with it?

Over numerous deaths I found him to be quite similar to Pontiff, as in his combos become shorter and predictable when you dodge forward to always position yourself behind him, and overall he does not act as aggressive. I was having a lot of troubles initially, beat him first try when I committed to dodging forward every attack he throws at me. With a STR weapon, mind you."

Dont bother to parry. Run away or dodge to the left while his fire attack. Dodge always to the left and land a hit from behind. Throwing nades on him works pretty well to.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my dude! What was THE strat! So simple but my lord so effective!
Dodging forward, getting behind him, and chipping away did the trick!

Nicely done :ReeneOK:

Spread the knowledge far and wide, so that all may know that King of Puppets is actually a chump.

Still on him. Learned the first phase yesterday and going to finish him today.
What i found is like the first answer said.
Yes he is pontiff.
Always try to get to his back moving around him on the right.
I also had a situation where i was directly on his left shoulder and he didn't do anything for about 5 - 10 seconds. Guess there is an exploit somewhere around that spot.

well when he is applying the fire element on his weapon u can actually use a strong fable atk to cancel it entirely

Throw a shot put at him when he's charging up and you break the entire sequence lol.

This to me is kinda hilarious. Just the image of this incredibly badass and fed up puppet coming to purge you in fire and you just bop him in the face with what is essentially an big metal rock.

That just tickles me.

Have double dodge, and keep strafe dodging behind him, worked for me

If this really works, it is amazing design that gives players a lot of tools to deal with it.

I just brute force his fire phases by running away and mashing dodge once he caught up. I'm guilty of not using consumables much. I need to start exploring each consumables as I start NG+.

I also never use consumables, but there are multiple ways of dealing with Romeo's insane combo, that's the point. A lot of people complaint how you're forced to play just 1 way, but that's not true at all. More things are viable than people think.

I used the giant wrench fable art, and literally slapped him out of it right as he started it.

Edit: Would also like to note that the full charge of it knocked the boss from half health, down to a 2 tap kill... one of which i got while he was still staggered by the fable art.
