As in all souls games the easy mode is a play style you need to figure out.
That said, specters and throwable items are incredibly overpowered and are just one step above having a "skip the fight" option.
i really wish people would stop saying this drivel. throwables and spectres aren't skipping jack squat lol, if you don't know the fight you can throw all the stuff you want you're gonna lose because spectre dies in two seconds and throwables don't do jack to later bosses. stfu with this bull.

Totally still requires you to learn the movesets. Thats without the specter tanking for you.
Nah, I stand by what I said. Throwables are a developer sanctioned cheat code.
It's a mod on Nexus the modder said was hidden in the game files as "easy mode" and all it took was a quick change from "false" to "true."
Obviously I can't confirm or deny if the modder is being truthful, but if that's really the case, it was probably changed for the full release because of the specific crowd of people the developer was trying to attract - the hardcore group.
I use the mod, and based on what I've seen modded versus unmodded, the game just feels far more balanced with the mod.
