Was just thinking the same thing, a week ago or whatever they where saying they beat NG at lvl77 with no challenge what-so-ever outside of Nameless; suddenly the tutorial took them how many tries? lol
Only other answer I can think of is they didn't learn a single thing their whole first run about timing or resistances.
hit & dodge strategy isnt working well in NG+
really need to perfect guard to stagger bosses faster
I'm on NG+3 right now, decided to stop at Level 256, also doing a "bonk only" run - clearing the entire game with Noblesse Oblige. It's such a slow weapon that it requires you to calculate your swings almost perfectly, and If I goof up, you better believe I'm getting my rear cavity annihilated, because at this point even basic enemies hit like a mississippi truck.
I am not changing my stance that NG+ is way more difficult than it should be. But, all the push-back i received in the comments about how NG+ was a breeze for them, made me reconsider my position. and i gave it my all.
Unlike in NG, i kinda cheated. I summoned spectres wherever i could, i reset my p-organ to be able to heal the spectre twice. I spent way too much money on throwables. but it worked out.
"Proof of humanity" is way too op. A 30% crit rate, and when combined with that grindstone which increases crit rates and the assassins amulet [more damage on crits] , hand of god amulet [successive hits have higher damage] and the one that increases damage proportional to the number of fable slots, it beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything. Well, everything that wasn't too busy smashing your skull in. That is where the spectre comes into the picture.
Closing remarks: I still think that NG+ is way too difficult. But i can also see why people claim that it was a "breeze". I thought i would never say this, but i am considering going for NG+2. I do need a break though.

or is it like most other souls games where they matter very little (a bad move in my opinion, since defense and resistances should matter in meaningful ways, esp in ng+ since most like to do those)
