This is terrible
Was very much looking forward to this, glad they gave us a demo, because this is rough.
This is especially true because I recently did a play-through of Bloodborne and finished it a week or two ago.
This game is clearly heavily inspired by it and if you're going to ripoff the best game of all time, just go all the way and try to make it as close to it as possible.

Right off the bat, the movement is way too responsive, what I mean is like just the most minimal movement of the sticks and your character is jerking around, it just feels wrong.
The other movement issue is your character is unbearably slow and you shouldn't have to use the sprint to make it faster.

Next, the combat is bad. The weapon felt off, but not too bad.
The dodge/roll is pathetically short and when fighting and enemy, its not intuitive at all!
I died at that mini-boss/heavy enemy and just quit the game right there.

I also don't like the item system. Again, if you're going to copy BB, just go all the way and use the Fromsoft way of doing items, it would be perfect.

Other than that, the character just feels boring and the game-play just turns me off from even wanting to know anything about the world.

the "too responsive" part is due to the game having no (or almost no) controller deadzone whatsoever. it feels a little better with sensitivity turned way down, but yeah, it desperately needs some deadzone. my dude kept moving on his own with analog neutral because of how sensitive it is

i felt no confidence whatsoever using the dodge, while also finding the parry/deflect system to be troublesome because everything has strange, delayed, loopy attacks, mixed in with nearly instant attacks. it's basically a bad iteration of both defensive options, which is unfortunate. easy fixes though really, deflecting is simply not rewarded enough to have such a strict window. increase it. and dodge wants more distance, although i haven't tried it with a lighter loadout (it improves below 30% equip load or something)

honestly just scrub blocking feels the best... since it has the health regain mechanic of bloodborne. that's not really a good thing, blocking should be easy but barely rewarding as a defensive strategy (in these type of games), and yet it feels like a lower risk and higher reward than anything else

sensitivity is just too high, Everything else seems awesome.

well i'm glad they didn't copy bloodborne exactly because i didn't want an unoptimized souls game that ran at 15 fps lmao

I never expect these clones to be GREAT.
You cant copy a master that easy.
Anyway, LiP seems like one one of the better Souls clones. Gonna get it when it hit 20 bucks or so.

Shows youve never played it mate, even at 30fps its tons better than this.

They are taking suggestions in a survey, hope they change some things.

Do you know where the survey is? Like their site or somewhere else?

The game is broken. It's not scaling properly with frame rate especially if you're playing at 120 fps or higher. It seems to be better if you cap it at 60 fps but I didn't play very far into it to test it further. Surprised this hasn't been patched already.

Yea the roll really isn't great, in fact I hate it but dying to a miniboss is on you! I'm really not good at souls games (even though I think it's the best genre) but I never died once in the demo accept to the final boss...

Back to my point of hating the roll... It really is way to short and doesn't feel right. I don't think it has eyeframes when you just dash instead of the roll...

It does have iframes, it's just absolutely broken if you play at too high a frame rate. You need to lock it to 60 at most if you want to actually have iframes.
