Please nerf orserk partner skill
150% atk and def bonus is completely unreasonable and defeats the point of any kind of theme or team building.
Unless you plan on just afk'ing fights there is no other partner skill that comes even remotely close.

Just reduce the stacks to 10, this makes it at least more attractive for different weapon types.
Would it still be the best partner skill at a third of its power? Probably... Or at least equal with celesdir Noct.

And no this isn't some gobfin argument where you warp your whole party, it's a single pal that should simply be on any team no matter which kind of team. Also you cannot use orserk at all without breaking the game which is just sad.

I believe part of the poster's point is that they believe Orserk as a single Partner Skill is quite powerful and isn't too difficult to splash in a party composition, especially compared to other generic boosters like Celesdir Noct which come with a trade off.

Also for the record, Pals have been nerfed before and have even been nerfed in 1.0, either directly or indirectly. Those nerfs were likely for balance and/or design reasons. Though I doubt we'll see any massive fiddling of balance at this point.

Does it work if I'm using a laser weapon and not bullets?

Pretty sure it works with any weapon that hits (even works with the terraria bs so I don't see why it wouldn't)
I'm finally at the point where endgame builds matter, so I can form a real opinion.

His partner skill only boosts the damage and defense of pals, not the player's. If it boosted yours then yes it would be OP. As it stands, endgame builds that go after hard bosses and such rely almost exclusively on player damage. Your pals tend to get one shot against hard bosses unless built specifically for defense. Regardless they do very little damage, so Orserk boosting their damage matters very little. You need your own damage boosted. As such the one pal every team should have is Solenne because she boosts the player's damage up to 80% if everyone in the party is a different species.
I just wish it worked on a server. And if it does, there was no mention of it in the patch notes.
is it really that good?
Here's an idea:
Have you tried... say... NOT using Orserk then?
If you think it's so broken?
The POINT of making a build is finding the ones that suit your playstyle the best.
I simply didn't use Orserk because it didn't fit my aesthetics and combat style.

What's next? Telling people to stop riding that FAT PIGEON?

So what if you like orserk but don't want to trivialize the game? Oh right not possible...

The issue with play style and builds is that it usually uses up multiple slots to get a vastly inferior version.

Example:
Let's build a grass type party.
30% atk boost
30% def boost
A grass pal scaler that gains like 6% stats per pal
So you got about 60% bonus for building your whole party around this.

Or you use an orserk for triple the bonus for just one slot.
Celesdir Noct in comparison comes with only atk boost and a downside.

I completely agree that you can do anything you want for a majority of the content. But orserk should not be mandatory for all the hard content. And it shouldn't trivialize everything else either.

Also the player damage argument is silly. Cause if orserk isn't "usable" for pal combat, no pal is.
I do agree it seems a little to tuned for one pal also solene(4 gobfins in a trench coat) imo. But there is going to be a best of pal setup especially when going for raids/hard mode towers.
"Also the player damage argument is silly. Cause if orserk isn't "usable" for pal combat, no pal is."

Correct, no pal is suitable for late game content. Except for the mounts that change your attack type and boost your damage. You build those for max defense and health so they don't die too quickly.

Instead your pals are there to passively boost your own damage.

Orserk makes pre hardmode easy, it ends there.
oh but this streamer said and made a video...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ most off them are running modded games, best one i seen today was a Eidrolon Ignis build running 18k life with God of destruction slotted (you cant have 18k Health with G.o.D).

i 100% agree on his passive outclassing all the others, its not even debatable.
but this is just a sign that we need to raise other pals passives to be more competitive.
65% buffs on conditional debuffs...that DONT stack and get removed...u good poison i like you though xD
80% with a lifedrain that needs 2x Idiosyncratic too somewhat break even
give it time, they just raised the bar on hardmodes, pretty sure those numbers will be raised sooner or later...for now though Orserk+Calesdir Noct is the best Pal damage stacking we got its universal, until u get 2x Idiosyncratic though Orserk+65% buffs are the safest and most usefull, followed by a x2 multiplier Soaked,ivy-covered,etc
Anyways remember too have fun, the build crafting been keeping my server's players happy and busy :D

That's complete nonsense. There are plenty of builds that work even for the hardest content, many of them relying on Pals doing the damage. And whenever a build does rely on Pal damage, Orserk is pretty much an automatic inclusion because of his disproportional effect.
Can we nerf veggie cakes and grintale too?
With the change from 128 to 48 pals needed for max condense and veggie cakes doubling egg output and grintale doubling that double, that’s 63% less pals needed and 75% less breeding needed - there’s not even a point to catching pals when you include the broncherries and braloha. And then the ancient hatchery just spawns an egg every 3 seconds, the core of the game - catching pals - is just destroyed, nothing comes close to this, not even the scatter launcher.

On a more serious note, no. If you want something changed, make a mod for it - your notion of balance and fun doesn’t speak for the other millions of players. I think orserk should be buffed to have no cap: as long as the bullets fly the damage amps. Or if you want to use orserk without its passive, play on a dedicated server where it currently doesn’t work 95% of the time and running the server locally takes next to no resources.
Pals like Quivern etc boost attack or defense (only a single and only for single element type) by 30%, Orserk buffs it by 150% for both and for all element types.

Just bcs he is end game shouldn't mean he just invalidates every other damage/defense boosting pal by 5x (probably like 3.5-4x due to repositioning, reload time, missing, aiming and what not that could possibly break the stacks chain).

10 stacks still keep him the best while not making him absurdly the best.

Or change his niche, maybe instead he lends the player a lightning spear to throw or something cool with a cooldown.

And for the concern about pals being too squishy in end game, just make the defense buffing pals buff more, instead of 30% make it 50% or perhaps have them get a rapidly regenerating shield. Or some anti-burst passive somewhere "can't take more than 30% of max hp per hit".
Never been a fan of nerfing, the trick is to make other pals a bit more attractive to use. That way you create balance while preserving the FUN. Fun should be the top priority in a game.

The issue in this case is that it's 3 times as strong as the next best alternative. It's the obvious power outlier. Raising everything to that standard would make you steamroll the game with your eyes closed.
