Nintendo should win
I've seen some of the reactions to the news of nintendo sueing palworld and it honestly scares me how the average stance on this appears to be.

Copyright infringements is a serious issue and it's happening way too often where people just take an established brand, use it for their own profits and then act like they own the brand in the first place. This is not okay! Copyright is there for a reason, and those who invent a brand should not have their ideas stolen by random people looking to make a profit.

I honestly hope nintendo wins this lawsuit, if only to make a global statement against copyright infringements.

literally the patent they are suing over is one that describes the act of throwing a device that deploys a character. you are wanting them to win over such a generalized, stupid patent?

either that or i fell for another troll post

It's not for copyright, it's for unknown patent infringements (which may be fraudulent claims or a patent troll)
JubalTheLion Sep 18, 2024 @ 6:21pm
They're not suing for copyright infringement.

hey you ever hear of digimon? what about spectrobes? games that had the same genre, if nintendo wins there will be a monopoly on creature catching and no one will be able to publish something "like" pokemon with significant hurdles. i know you are a fanboy and closed minded so do yourself a favor and look at the bigger picture and the consequences, if they win there will be no competition and pokemon will fall further into stagnation and they will keep pumping out sub par ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games that they spent a year on

thats cool and all, but the lawsuit is not copyright related, lmao.
if anything, nintento would probably get the rights to anything pokemon related, which may include the way how pokemon (in this case, pals) are caught, or designs based on pokemon.

at the very least, palword just has to change some stuff if nintendo wins, they aren't going to be forced to shut down

yeah, unlike how you don't know the difference between a patent lawsuit & a copyright lawsuit

I love how everybody is already seeing evil in either one side or another

Nobody knows what the lawsuit is for

It can be anything and honestly for my point of view, they can sue them for stealing assets from games. seeing how close some pals are to pokemon, they can have just grab the 3D files from a game and modify them / fuse them to make a pal

We can't really know what's happening until we have more infos from one side or another.

I don't understand why anyone as a consumer would defend a giant, hostile conglomerate that attacks anything inspired by them to stay as a monopoly on art.

I love Nintendo products, but this is literally Nintendo saying no one else can be like Nintendo, and it sucks.

Just cuz Nintendo is a big corporation doesn't mean they also have rights and also doesn't mean palworld gets a free pass when it comes to breaking the law. It's just common sense, I don't understand why you find this so difficult to understand.

Pocket Pair should hire you as defendant. Guess what would happen?

None of you would dare downvote this post because you know deep down Im right. Somewhere hidden beneath all that toxicity garnered from playing palworld, a game as evil as they come, there is still a shimmer of the good people you all once were, back when you were all still physically capable of understanding that nintendo is right. It's a shame it has come to this.

Copyright infrigement is a serious issue. However, nintendo isn't suing over copyright infrigement. They're suing over patent infrigment. They aren't claimign pocketpair copied them, they're claiming pocketpair stole some sort of tech, concept, or code.
