Pal Storage Suggestion
I'd personally like the addition of a pal bank storage system. A place where you can store your pals to be safe and use them in whichever character/world you want to use them on. As long as they're stored in that 'bank', you can use them. We sort of already have the storage system, however it's not across worlds/characters and it's not protected.

I'd like the security of my pals saves being to a pc file rather than to a server file, just to keep them safe. At least that way I know the progress I've made, breeding strong pals, doesn't have as likely a potential to be lost.

I've spent a lot of time breeding strong pals and I'd like to use them competitively in pvp in the future, but I also don't want to be bound to the world I'm in, just so that I can use them.

Maybe pvp won't happen in the world though? Maybe it's in a dungeon...I don't know? Especially, if this were the case, we'd need to be able to bring our pals with us, otherwise what's the point in breeding strong pals if they are stuck to one world and we don't get to use them, or they vanish in a server wipe?

I doubt this will be implemented, given what you are asking for here basically a Pokemon mechanic...
they probably won't do this but the good news is that there are already mods that does this.

what you want is basically save editor that can export/import pokemans

That would pretty much be cheating for pvp.
Use a safe PVE world to grow and breed, then go destroy others in a PVP map? No thank you.
Also, if your on a server that you do not own, you will ALWAYS run the risk of a server wipe happening.

For dedicated servers, you need access to the save data stored on the hosting computer/site, which only the server owner has access to.

for public servers, all you need to do is just have your friends flood into a low pop server and just dominate and then use the supposedly coming "server transfer"

boom ezpz exploited, sure most of us probably don't have 32 friends to fill a server but it's pretty normal to find big chinese squads that can.

tldr: public severs, official or community also have to concern themselves with the abyssmal anti-cheat so it's really not a concern.

You cannot copyright a mechanic. And this is completely beside OP's point.

Not quite sure how this would work. The very next thing people would complain about is tempering of the on disk files and then Pocketpair would need to implement a "norm check" system where they would check whether the pals used have legitimate values.

I don't think you can copyright a mechanic. Otherwise Genshin Impact would be in for a lawsuit with Breath of the Wild.

No, I don't want a save editor. That's more like Terraria style. I want somewhere to store the progress I've invested time into (breeding strong pals), to keep it safe. Kind of like pokemon bank I suppose, if I had to have a comparison. So I can use them competitively in the future. They're useless on my friends world because I only play with three other people.

I guess it depends how the pvp will work. No idea if it's an arena or based in the worlds. I'm on my friends server on g.portal but because it's server saved I don't trust my progress to be safe in the long term, if that makes sense.

So...does that mean if it's my friends server, the data will always be safe? Apologies, I don't know a lot about private servers.

oh yeah, i think I vaguely remember seeing some mention of a server transfer. I'm interested to see how they make that work without creating a massive imbalance. I'm kind of concerned now how they're going to make things work and still keep it competitive and not a case of who has what exploits.

I don't know how it would work either. I'd still like a way to protect my pals though :p Oh yeah a norm check would be good. There must be a way they can detect how the pals have been made (ie through breeding, catching etc)

TBF, I wasn't implying there would be copyright issues. But people like to talk garbage, and it is easier to avoid that by not offering up easy comparisons. If Palworld did implement a "Palbank" as it were, it likely wouldn't get them into any legal trouble - but it would be just one more buffet for the trolls

There is a character transfer utility, but it not only transfers all the pals, but character progress in general. Sadly there is nothing to transfer JUST pals to my knowledge at the moment, but I'm not entirely sure about that. That said... it might be possible to actually make a workable 'new game' type deal via repeated transferring and etc. Sadly it wouldn't really be possible to keep it updated as you go without a lot of work. But I HAVE transferred Pals from one save to another without losing progress.
