Reptyro, even non alpha/lucky versions are so massive YOU LITERALLY CAN'T MINE WHILE MOUNTING THEM. It should be when fighting together, EG: While summoned. Not while mounted. x.x

This. To save food/SAN on pals I have sets I can swap out to clear sections quick, like a Mammorest AoEing damage on all harvestables so Vanwyrms can Van Wyrm it to nearby storage.

yeah at level 5 the skill is powerful enough that you can either 1 shot or nearly 1 shot most mining nodes with your attacks, skill works fine and it lets you dump the pickaxe out of your regular inventory

Much more expensive too. Using a Reptyro is free.

yeh it saves on making refined ingot tools and the maintenance, also if you really want to explode mining nodes i guess you can try the pengullet launcher but i've never tried it lol

the main problem really is that pals dont have a basic meele attack. if it had one it would be THE mining mount

It's worth noting that rocket ammo and grenades are also freely acquired from syndicate goons. And using moves makes pals more hungry. So no. Nothing is really free.

Pengullet doesn't deal that much damage to nodes.

This. It's stupid that they clearly DO have basic melee attacks because if you ASSIGN them to mining, they actually 'use' them to mine. We just do not have access to them for some reason.

Go around to skill trees until you find lightning strike. Massive AOE damage on all nodes.

No, it literally isn't.

Reptyro/Astegon can destroy all surrounding nodes in a single attack.
