The Cake is dead frustrating.

I know, i know, it takes long to bake the cake, so you cant breed like one zillion Pals the hour.

But its dead annoying. Even with a tier 3 fire Pal it takes like centuries.

How about we need to find very rare strawberries for the cake, which are very limited, but for gods sake reduce the baking time like about 75%.

This damn Cake wants me to stop playing that game. Its purely dead annoying.

Setup multiple cooking pots, do it in parallel, set out multiple kindling 2+ pals, and just let it run while you do other things. The cakes will accumulate.

Youre doing it wrong if youre sitting there watching it cook.

The games AI sucks so hard, that my fire pals are watching the fire pots but dont fire them even if i manually assign them. It works in 1 out of 20 cases and the cakes takes for centuries.

And im not watching the fire pots. I got three in my base. 3 fire pals, and they didnt manage to produce a cake within the last 20 minutes.

Its annoying, no matter what you say.
Its just stretching game time cheap.
Make ingridients more rare, but let it bake faster.

Yeah, lets assume that people got a life and are not drowning like 20 hours a day into this game to bring out lvl 5 stuff with + zillion stuff.

I want it casual, like two or three hours a day.
Im even playing on lowest difficulty possible.

Point is, you cant even turn down working time in your world settings in single player.
If you could do so, it would also solve the problem.

Even a casual can easily get an electric cooker, jormuntide ignis, and a flame cauldron. Voila, level 5 kindling cooking your cakes nice and fast. Sure, if you want it really fast you can breed a jormuntide ignis with artisan, lucky, and whatever the hell else upgrades work speed, but that's entirely optional and not something I've bothered with, my cakes still cook a lot faster than I can get their ingredients or hatch huge eggs.

Sounds nice, thanks for the first post that actually helps.
But sadly there is no mods on Xbox. Thats where im playing.

I play it casual, on my sofa, relaxing time, just chill, and not bake a damn cake for like 7 hours.

It should at least be possible to lower such things in your single player settings. Cause the way it is, it definately sucks for casual players.

Aye the baking time is long so it's more about planning, no real short term fixes. I must have bred 45 pals already on this run and I've still got a stock of 20+ cakes spare. That's with Tier 2 kindling & Tier 1 farming pals only. Aim to regularly bake cakes, even if you're not actively breeding pals right now. Last time I went to start a batch it was like "ok bake me 35 cakes". If you keep one of each farming pal active, even if they're just Tier 1, it all adds up pretty quick. Do remember to pop by and move the milk / eggs to the cooler box regularly.

Tier 4 or 5 kindling plus electric stove and it's fairly quick. Don't forget to add the kindling booster to your base as wells.

I've bred around 100 pals for Anubis', Jormuntide's & Ignis', Faleris', Verdash's, Shadowbeaks, Suzakus, etc and have over 100 cakes still in my breeding pen.

You know it would be nice if they changed it so any food can be used but the food effects how quickly the Pals breed. So Berries can be used but are very slow at making an egg, with things speeding up till you get to the cake which has the breeding take the current amount of time. Making Pals eat occasionally not just when making the egg to prevent the old bait and switch.
