what's the point of multiple feed backs?

from my understanding pals don't care if they are eating meat or vegetables even though they are clearly carnivores, herbivores, etc.

I have 4 feed bags

but the pals only touch the food in the first feed bag the other 3 foods just rots.

So what's the point of making 1 meat feedbag, 1 veggie feedbag, etc and they just eat whatever is in first?

Food provides buffs. You can feed a pal all four buffs before a fight for instance. The feed bag lets you carry that food with out taking up inventory slots to do it.

Either they didn't realize that we would all become berry plantation owners or they had (have?) plans for specific diets.

if you roam alot then inventory slots becoming full are a thing

As pals only eat the left most item, is there a way without removing it from the feed bag to specifically feed it to a pal? Otherwise, you must keep one space open and rotate all of the foods out to apply them.

my pets eats from the bags only when not using them, which is useless because they dont starve if in inventory ..
when i am using it, it will never eat the food from bag and must feed it manually still

its a QoL feature. right now there is no point in multiple ones.
