The Devs had no clue how to make a game?
This can't be true.
Dev's interviewed about Palworld
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDOiCDJzGCM&t=325s&ab_channel=AsmongoldTV

So I know this is the same Studio of Craftopia but not the same Team...
So what did they do? Just hire some randoms to make a game?

This doesn't make any sense.

Just because they hired people who didn't have a background in game dev doesn't mean the people they hired magically have zero knowledge of game dev, everyone began somewhere and a lot of people who have a pretty good understanding of how to program and use a game engine and whatnot have never actually made a game of their own they just know how to do one aspect of it.

As it turns out not everyone with game development capabilities is also a solo one man army able to do EVERYTHING and make their own game with no help and plops out a bunch of random stuff to have a resume with a history of game dev.
It also turns out not everyone who has skills that could contribute to developing a game necessarily have game dev experience but have experience in the field they actually performed duties for, such as character design or programming (because not all programming is game programming.)

Apparently they made a very successful game. How many million copies have they sold now? 4? I guess it doesn't matter your level of skill if you churn out a good product. Hell even Stardew Valley sold millions for a solo dev because the game is actually good. Funny how indie companies are far surpassing AAA companies with millions of dollars to invest in making a game.

You sat and watched an idiot though. Getting your gaming news from Azmo is like getting your political opinion from Joe Rogan. It's what idiots do.
Now you are just biased because it's Asmon but he did deliver information that few content creator dug or probably no one else that i know yet.
Isn't that the guy who started the spit on people for having a wow mount?
Seriously though, he's an issue for wow and games in general.. he will actively abuse his position as a streamer in mmos, and will give actively incorrect.

He's just popular for being popular now, and his takes... are not any more valuable than anyone elses.... despite how they get held up.

6 million copies according to their announcement on Twitter 14 hours ago. Plus Gamepass. 1.8 million concurrent players, on a weekday, making them not just the most played paid game, but the second most played game overall in Steam history. They've created something that people love.

wait, So you're confused how a team who had to learn to put a game together, kept out most the political bs, and used all the big boi tropes in the western markets, and where willing to change engines when one wasn't doing what they needed.. and they took team meetings on a game engine and worked ....*shock horror* ... as a team without putting political crap into the game ... made a success.

... Think about it..... fresh faced team base dev group learning an engine making a game with the restrictions of .. 'well, it got to have this and this', and actually putting in effort and passion enjoying it along the way.... Think about how f*cked that is when that's the success story.... because that emplies ..the normal thing is to... do something far worse.

I like how one person says people like a good game play loop, funny. whats good about cooking and harvesting rocks? how is it a good loop to wander aimlessly throughout a vapid copy and paste landscape. Sitting in silence for hours amongst friends with whom you are playing must be indicative of an engaging game play loop.
honestly the game is underwelming for me, i thought it was going to be much better but aint gonna knock people for enjoying it. i wasnt a fan of ark neither tho.

But simply being Asmongold calls any veracity into question. He thrives off overblowing things, taking things out of context, and in some cases actively generating hate, and has proven it time and again across multiple games. i'd believe a game journo over Asmongold, and will never take any of his "content" seriously.

What you're saying is akin to "Fox News may have a history of outright lying about democrats, and may have been founded expressly to prevent future democratic presidencies, but they're serious on this one article calling out democrats!"
I mean it's not like Palworld is political though, but it's interesting to know if the information he provided is true because why else would he bring this in the picture? I mean i know peoples are high on the "Baldur's Gate good triple AAA game devs bad and indie gaming is future" speech but still.

I didn't really care about this stuff personally just if it's true that devs knew very few things about what they were doing it's kinda cool if they truly just did learn all this on the way.

I like to see some of these smaller companies making a great game. I even got hooked on Starcrack Valley for a while too. We need more of these indie devs to show the AAA companies what it's like when you don't kill the passion of your workers on making video games.
