Higher levels XP farming
currently 36, trying to grind out levels but damn the resource cost on spheres is insane and boss killing feels tedious too. Anyone got any tips?

Catch 10 of everything. The catch XP bonus is too good to pass up. Yeah, the spheres are expensive. Catch water pals, and pals that drop bones, then butcher them to get double the resouces for more cement. Set up a mining base that is near 8-10 ore nodes. Two things you should always be crafting automatically are the best sphere you can, and the best ingot you can. In higher level biomes, you'll find higher level spheres on the ground. Keep in mind that you don't need to use the best sphere you have at all times. You can hold the throw sphere button to get an idea of your chances of catching the pal, and cancel the throw if you want to see how another sphere would do.

At your level, I'd go catch 100 of my favourite pal, then pick ones with good traits to breed. Once you have a pal with the bred traits you want, Use the pal distiller to strengthen it's star rating to max by sacrificing the pals you discarded during the process. This will give you a better goal than just running around, and catching 100 of any pal similar to your level will level you up a few times.

Sounds more like a job than a video game.

The exp bonus for capturing pals is massive. first 10 of any you capture gives a huge bonus.
like killing a pal gives 5-100exp, capturing one gives like 600-5000.
when you realize this you can powerlevel yourself. in fact, its a bit easy to go TOO fast, and out level your base pals, causing high level raids versus underleveled base. careful with that.

and yes, eggs, releasing pals from cages, etc counts for this. both found eggs, and bred eggs.
there is also enough low level pals you could go catch 10 of, 1-19ish, with blue spheres, to probably hit level 50 outright.

I kinda hate how the level up work in the game right now, your only way to level up is the 10 catch bonus because even bosses from your level have an horrible xp/time ratio for the character.
But pals get xp real easily from bosses, don't really like having to stop doing some things just to go on an xp farm and catch up.

Go kill those pesky PDF soldiers or whatever theyre called. You can find them a bit everywhere, but my favorite spot is in the small village with the 2 merchants and the dungeon.

Kill 'em with your MC as fast as you can and their levels will keep increasing. Theyll keep spawning as long as you keep killing them. Theyll also follow you wherever you go (those damn stalkers will even follow you in dungeons and during gym battles! T_T), so if you feel like the village is too small, use the statue near the village to teleport yourself somewhere else with more space and kill as many as you want/can.

The soldiers mostly drop ammunitions of all kinds (shotgun, rifle, handgun, etc.) but they can also drop the two weakest pal spheres. Of course, the high level soldiers give decent exp too.

When youve had enough exp or if you want them to leave you alone, stop attacking them completely with your MC and send one of your pals instead to deal with the soldiers.

I used this trick to level up my team all the way to level 40~45 and I still use it to level up new pals.

change the world settings, increase XP rate, increase catch rate, increase pal apperance rate, increase resource drop rate

I play my game with all of these higher than default because I don't want to spend time grinding, I just want to play the game

boss respawn timers are also affected by day/night speed, they respawn in 12 minutes if you set it to x5 speed for both
Yeah its getting a bit slower ... but just make a mining base on the spot that has coal and ore in one and you will be set for spheres.

Grinding builds character. I work a real job so I can come home and play survival games as if I didn't have a home and had to live off my back.

If you turn it into a grind it'll feel like a grind. Just play the game and you'll get levels pretty fast.

Lowkey catching the last tower boss over and over is the move if you are on your own server and want to cheese it just spawn at the start of the game smack the girl smack the dudes who show up fast travel to the last tower wait for the gaurds to shoot the boss, boss runs into a corner then throw a regular palball at its back and bam 150,000 xp, then choose respawn and spawn at the start
As others have said:

Capture ten of each pal. The exp is insane from doing so. If you're wasting palspheres, you're not doing it right. Stack debuffs before you throw. I tend to take a Ragnahawk and a poison crossbow. Set the pal on fire, hit it with an arrow. The catch rat jumps 15-20% instantly. I'm catching level 30+ pals with Gigaspheres easily and consistently as the rate once they're low health with double debuffs is over 60%. Oftentimes above 70%.

If you don't wanna craft spheres, start breeding ten of everything.
