Nitrado servers

Ok so i rented a server to be able to play with friends. I can list it in public but i don't want to do that as i want only friends to be able to play. When i go into settings, there's no option for password setting etc. It only tells me with a warning that there's a power outage etc. anybody else having these issues?

It's probably a setting on the nitrado
sever console settings things. It's like that for my Icarus server on shockbyte

Just joined their discord and it walked me through it. You'd think they make it easier but hey, it was jus released so i'm not trippin.

It's why I use GPortal. Nitrado has a lot of advantages but User interface it not one of them

oh yeah? what's different about Gportal? just curious. I've used Nitrado since forevers like Ark servers and such. It's been good to me. Shockbyte was another good one. What's Gportal?

1 - The server settings are NOT using correct syntax, Nitrado has broken the settings into line item for easy visibility <--- this DOES NOT WORK. You will need to Delete the current PalWorldSettings.ini and upload a correct version without the line breaks ie: [/script/pal.palgameworldsettings]
OptionSettings=(Difficulty=None,DayTimeSpeedRate=1.000000,NightTimeSpeedRate=1.000000,ExpRate=....) etc etc.
2 - Then add: ServerName="your server name here",ServerDescription="your description here",AdminPassword="your password here",ServerPassword="your password here" into that file
3 - save
4 - start server

GTX managed to parse the single-line config file for the PalWorld server instance and break them out to edit whichever is needed.

how so?

under the Nitrado "TOOLS" section "File Browser" link, navigate to palworld/pal/saved/config/windowsserver scroll down to palworldsettings.ini delete it and upload a syntax correct version using the Upload File button. make your changes and save then restart server.

Do the difficulty,time, etc. need to be on seperate lines? Because mine were this:

Yeah thats it, no line separations. also make sure you have :

[/script/pal.palgameworldsettings] at the very beginning of the file, should look like this:

[/script/pal.palgameworldsettings]
OptionSettings=(Difficulty=None,DayTimeSpeedRate=........)

There is an Green Button at the bottom of the screen that says "Upload File"

Attention all: what fixed it for me was following all these instructions but making sure that there was a blank line 3 and blank line 4 after. See SS below.
