Why five food slots?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't understand the purpose of getting the average or large feed bags. If I can stick a stack of food in 1 food slot that feeds me and my party what is point of unlocking the other 4 slots? Will this not just mean more food spoiling quicker?

What benefit do the additional food slots give you or is it just an waste of Ancient points?

Waste of ancient points in my opinion. I have the two slot bag and it just sits there with one stack of food in it. There seems to be no stack size limit, the bag doesn't save weight in any way, and while your inventory is finite in size I've never actually filled it.

I think that would be the most appropriate 'fix' for this in fact, make the feed bags reduce the weight of any food in them, improving the weight reduction with higher tier bags (10% per tier to a maximum of -50% on the 5 slot bag maybe?).

Better food can give effects like extra damage or defense so if you want food for buffs it can be used for that. I dont really need any food slot at all though

I like the weight reduction idea, would make them worth while. At the minute I am just failing to understand the purpose.

I get that different food give different buffs, but the food slots are automatic feeding, so does that mean when your hungry you eat 1 from each slot? Or does it mean if a buff wears off it will auto eat. I know there must be some reason for it. I am just failing to see it atm, and the game doesn't give much info on how it works.

You put your normal food in the 1st slot, that's your auto feed slot. They won't auto feed from the rest. Mozzarina Cheese burger 2nd slot (Atk 20%), Eikthyrdeer Loco Moco /Rushoar Hot Dog 3rd slot (Def 20%). Depending on where you are lacking on a fight, (ie. atk/def), you eat that food. The rest of the slots are a bonus when you are full in inventory. Also they are in Early Access and more skill foods are being added.

Well, they can be useful in that when you pick up food and are running low on space, you can shove them in those slots. OR, you can take different kinds of food with you to use on the fly. Ate a burger for this fight they they are putting a hurt on your pal? Give him the hotdog you also packed to up his defense instead.

I use them much more for the first one myself.

There is no use. Been asked a lot here so is not a dumb question.

So you can store food/ingredients you pick up in them so you effectively have +4 inventory slots

The extra inventory space dedicated towards foods can be convenient for shoving extra food items you pick up into them, or maintaining specific buff foods you may want at specific times without taking up inventory.

It does have it's use, but i'd certainly never say no to a weight reduction there.

This can occasionally be useful, even some stuff you wouldn't consider food can be put in the bags (Cave Mushrooms, medical supplies, flowers) and this can free up space in a pinch. Though it's kinda held back by you not being able to use food directly from the feed bags, you need to first move it back to your inventory and THEN you can use it...

I don't care about weight reduction (food is much lighter than most materials) but the one thing I'd love seeing is a refrigerated feed bag update, so it's more worth stocking up on stuff without worrying about it spoiling. Maybe it could be balanced out by requiring an ice pal in the party to be operational?

The next update they need to fix this by adding 75% weight reduction and add 25 percent cooling effect

That would certainly be interesting. If it became one or the other, i'd probably prefer an extended time for decay. A slight reduction in decay speed would probably be sufficient, even if not requiring an ice pal. (like the 25% mentioned above).

Reducing decay speed would help a lot. As is, there's a slight argument for space. It allows people to bring multiple types of buffing food in an easily organized manner. But decay makes this impractical. Why carry any food when it's so easy to forget?

For that matter, the whole decay thing has issues. The primary means of overcoming it (resetting the timer) come off far too much like an unintentional exploit. It conflicts directly with the survival-game purpose of decaying food.

The extra bags would be handy if the food did not expire so quickly i find them handy for different use situation but i use mod to remove spoil rate on food.

Carrying extra food back. As in inventory slots dedicated to food.
Kinda the same way you can "carry" grenade drops in your weapon slots if you have to.

Yeah, I'm grasping at straws here, but there really is no other purpose for them besides just storing additional food stacks.
