Terrible Optimization
Unfortunately, this game at current state is basically drawing power from GPU like it's running Cyberpunk 2077 on max ray-tracing settings or some crypto miner.

Tried playing a bit, until I quickly noticed that my GPU started running it's fan very fast (which usually doesn't happen on optimized simple graphics games)

How can a game that looks like this, draw so much power?

Something to compare to: Red Dead Redemption 2 on High @ 1440p stays around ~100W on my GPU and runs cool.
Meanwhile, this game on lowest possible settings 60 fps capped, goes over ~160W.. and runs hot... What??LMFAO

My PC=
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB (Equivalent to RTX 3070)
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3600MHz
On SSDs
Windows 10

Running my RTX2080 Super was clean, barely operated fans. Running a second system with a RX7900XTX, and the GPU is capped at 98% utilization and burning at 360Watts to do the same thing. OP is correct, they need to address it. It is early access, so hopefully by the time they fully release, they'll optimize it for AMD GPUs.

If you don't like how your PC handles high load just downclock it lol.

Runs fantastic, not a single issue so far.

I'm running 60fps on all low settings except textures and view distance at high with a RX 6650xt and am staying around 65 degrees
Reported for maximally stupid.
Runs amazing for me thankfully, gtx1060/r7 2700

Hopefully will get better with time!
I played that new 2d ingress portal demo thing and it made my fans spin harder than this game on an i9-11900h and rtx 3070.

Works fine on my AMD PC, but that's with a 7900xtx

I agree. For me the game runs "fine" at medium-high with balanced DLSS at 100 fps capped ( via ini file ) but I do get a lot of random stuttering when running around, moving the camera and interacting with objects in the world. Also my gpu fans spin like crazy while the gpu is utiilized by only about 60%.

Running on 2070S, i79700k, 32gb

well the game was made by some middle schoolers in the basement or something so maybe wait for them to graduate high school

I don't have the game. You should try to turn on/off each graphic option and see how impactful it is on temperature and power consumption. The fact you're capped at 60fps and still draw that much power at low settings is concerning.

On monster hunter world, I've recently found out that "z-prepass" uses more GPU computing and making it hotter with more power draw (+20W).

Ok i measured some data

GPU 110W
CPU 60W

60fps
Maxed settings

No problems on Nvidia here

My GPU goes up to 200W in other games.. and it's not a bad thing either btw. It's called.. work xD

If you think this game is badly optimised then please never play path of exile, only then will you truly understand bad optimisation...

According to game benchmarks, your AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB is actually equivalent to RTX 3060.......

the game is out for a couple of days in EARLY ACCESS (maybe google what that means), give them some time
Completely missing my point over your head.
Yes, it's Early Access. I would expect such things.
I'm making a point about power draw and optimization. The game runs on my system 1440p Medium ~100fps as well. But a game running well doesn't mean it's optimized and everyone should check their GPU power draw and temperature, unless you want to burn your GPU on a game that looks like it came out in 2015
A game can't burn out your hardware. It is true its not optimized for AMD and there's no FSR even though. I have 7900XTX and get 70-90 fps in 4k native at max settings. Nothing different about my power draw in this game than anything else, 360-414W. Your GPU is just having to work probably because there is no upscaling crutch to lean on. You don't seem very sincere though since you are comparing it to a crypto miner and claiming it looks like its from 2015.

The game runs great for me. I'm playing in 4K and I'm getting 95 to 120 FPS on max settings plus field of view is all the way up. I'm using liquid cooling and GPU temp is at 66-68°C and CPU temp is 50-52°C

OS: Windows 11 Home
CPU: i7-12700K
GPU: 4070
RAM: 16GB
1TB SSD
