Any way to set up Automated collection in the Desert?
So I like to do boulder mining by bringing all the ores to a central spot nearby with a teleporter, and smelting them there. This has worked in most areas, but in the Desert, bomb scarabs fight other creatures in the collection areas, and end up blowing up the conveyors/robot arms, and i haven't found any way of stopping them.

I've tried setting up killzones farther out on the conveyors, using the robot arm through the wall trick and galaxite turrets, and even tried setting up a wall 50 blocks away in hopes of making the mobs despawn, but nothing seems to have worked. At this point, the only solution I see is to scour the desert of all Valley Moss tiles so that the scarabs are the only thing that spawns to prevent them from fighting at all.

If anyone knows of a setup to keep them from blowing up my stuff while collecting ores, let me know.

Also, please don't say "just smelt ores on site", I'm aware of that strategy and don't want to either build a teleporter at each boulder or walk around the map to collect all the bars.

Just don't be near desert automated mining area. At less around 200 block or more far away from it. Also don't set any trap/turrets. That basically asking for trouble from lady bug monster to self destruct and also remove any thing that can spawn desert cavelings that like to to fight that lady bug.

Just dirt wall alone do the trick to keep them out. UNless you don't like dirt wall use any desert block around area as wall. Those lady bug won't be able to blow up in 1 hit any way.

You can place tiles on everything to prevent spawning mobs. Also maybe build thick walls of crystal or fossil blocks from the pathway.

This, and also tilling the ground with a hoe is supposed to keep monsters from spawning so you can stop them from appearing directly in the area.

After getting a few hundred bars, I don't even bother going back to check the mines until they have had plenty of time to run out and smelt all the bars... that might be easier.

Umm.... Tilling the ground don't work in desert of beginnings. Its not really a desert ground block for farming stuff. Also just won't let you any way. Whole desert ground will spawn Bomb Scarab(lady bug) over times. Those Bomb Scarab don't attack any auto mining stuff.

What you can tilling is that Valley Moss that spawn Caveling Assassin. As long those guys is not around fighting Bomb Scarab(lady bug). Those Bomb Scarab(lady bug) will wonder around aimlessly not blowing up any thing.

You could try to replace the desert ground blocks around your industrial installations, eg replace the ground with dirt or stone. Maybe this will stop them.

I may try this in future, too.
Repeatedly bomb scarab groups spawned inside my small desert outposts below placed stuff, dismantling portals, chests, drills, etc which were placed on these tiles.
