Bambuck softlock?

So I just got to the scarletite ores/set and I realize I need wool from the lamb cattle that I was ignoring since early.

Problem is, since I opened the way to the meadows, monsters have invaded the area and killed all the goats, is this world softlocked or is there some workaround to this?

It's very odd this design choice, forcing players on making new worlds only to snatch critters totally breaks immersion.

there should be some more around the world, so either search for it, or do the easy path and try another world :)

i'm in the exact same situation, i have 4 biomes in the center but none contain cattle anymore. they seem to have been killed by cavelings and other monsters. making them not respawnable and forcing you to make a new world seems be an incredible stupid decision

Its easy enough to make a fresh world, take your character, go get a few with the pet travel box and bring them back to your world.

Well, you let yours die ... feels sad man

edit: i built a quick wall of dirt around the livestock I saw in the wild so they would be safe until I went back to get them later. just a tip
