Its next to my base, like literally, i turned it into a panic room :D
Some people like to build a geometrically pleasing base with all the amenities, and when you include all the crafting stations, storage, a farm, an animal enclosure, and NPC housing your base can get quite big. And even bigger when including stuff like decorations, an automated forge/mill setup, fishing spots, monster spawning rooms, and a boss arena for Glurch.
I play this game with a friend who's literally an irl interior designer. You have no idea how far a true builder is willing to go. Expand, expand, expand.
He's lucky I'm a compulsive resource grinder and can feed his addiction. Oh boi, here I go mining again.
Because you can't build layers, You have to build out, So for myself right now I have my farm next to the Slime boss along with cattle since it has a waypoint near it. My main base is currently around 30x30 tiles and houses a bank, homes for npcs, a kitchen, and crafting room.
However I'll prob need to expand later for automation and wider storage in the bank.
