It's not very good.
I didn't find any, but I am playing the free weekend demo version, so maybe behind the wall there will be ways to increase it.

But judging by Summoning passive tree, it seems that they expect us to use minions to boost our magic damage as a lvl 100 Mage and Summoner, that's what I do right now. I cast some summons and use them as a small but decent Magic damage boost.
It takes me less time to kill the slime boss with my axe, than it takes for the summon to target it.
3-5 hits with my axe, 1 to 2 seconds.
If I equip my summoner's gear and let my summon fight, it takes alot more time, and I feel like I can out DPS my summons with my fists.
And it also takes time to summon.

The summoning AI wasn't a problem for me, but the EXTREMELY short duration on summons and lack of max mana or mana regen on summoning armor makes it far from feasible to keep up with the increased summon limits they give
What if instead of a mana cost, Minions have a food drain on the summoner ? each minion adds a 1 food per second drain ?
You use mods, no respect there.
So dont, its pretty simple.
The summoner felt adequate in the early game and got stronger as better summoning gear was found. Of course using food + buffs really made it shine. Wasn't even using a mage necklace or rings for ages. With the food I could focus on mining and etc and not feel underpowered for clearing mobs.
Letting the summons fight while I planted bombs or used that bouncy ball mage staff. And paired that with the Prince Slime pet, it packs a punch and pushes enemies back.
All the boss fights and creature spawns so far have been easy.
This world is a Hard world gen. But not Hardcore, I've died plenty, lol
