Bloom Spreader Ruining the Game for me
I have no desire to even play anymore because of the turn timer bloom spreader missions. I rush straight to it and DPS it asap and still lose often. Takes the fun out of the game, it's just tedious. I can't really use any tactics, because the only tactic is to run straight to it. I hate time limits and turn timers in games that lead to abrupt mission failures. Ruins the game for me.

Bring a librarian. Makes the mission almost too easy

Librarian + Interceptor + Gate of Infinity stratagem on these do wonders. Grab all the small fissure thingies that extend the timer and are not completely out of the way. Abuse AP resets of activating/finishing a pod (spend all AP on movement as close to pod as possible, and activate it with last guy, kill pod in 1 turn, move again, thats 9 AP for each knight and it all counts as a single turn).

When mission starts, plan out your route. You can see the timer extenders in the fog of war and you can see where blooms are. If there are any timer extenders out of the way, use interceptor for those (super helpful if he has armor with +movement). Use librarian mass teleport to bring him back to pods on your main route. If you can 1 turn a pod but are left with no AP on anything and warp surge is about to come, might be better to just extend it for one more turn.

Once you get to spreader you can just gate of infinity onto it and kill it in one turn if you dont want to deal with reinforcements. On legendary, keep finishing those with 12+ turns left, altho my first one was a disaster since I didnt know what I was doing, finished with 0 turns left and whole squad at half health or less.
Bloom spreader is pretty much Gate of Infinity. You'll have it unlocked way before any bloom spreader mission. Get the spores, have someone like your interceptor go to the bloom spreader. Gate of infinity everyone on top of it.

Use the vents on the floor for +1 turn time each. Kill the Blooms on the way to the spreader, while still hitting the vents.

No need to rush. Its really very easy.

Seriously just whack a few vents along the way, it makes the timer a non-issue

When do you get advanced classes? I'm 27 hours into the game and don't have them unlocked. I just got the craftworld mission but haven't gone to it yet due to how difficult it looks.

You have to complete the craftworld mission to get the other classes.

But you can just up the timer. You can actually kill all Bloomspawn and the spreader and have still 8 turns left when you melee this Gas Vents on your way. Even without Libarian or Gate of Infinity not a big deal.

I think my last two Spreader missions I finished with 8 and 9 turns left, respectively, while still taking time to ensure I harvested seeds and got the requisition bonus. You just need to hit vents on the way to the Spreader. That's it.

In my opinion, Spreader missions are the easiest in the game because you literally just have to kill one enemy and you get extracted immediately. Every other mission there is more that you have to do, and you don't necessarily get extracted straight away.

Most of the time I finish the mission with the timer higher than where it was at the start of the mission

Yes, I usually finish with 12/13 turns remaining as I whack one or two vents a turn on the way and so the time goes up.

Thank you so much. There aren't any good guides out for this game yet. Can't wait to try out some advanced classes.

Once you kill a pod of enemies your AP refreshes but your turn timer remains the same. If you engage another pod with the refreshed AP and kill them in 1 turn then you refresh the AP again and the turn timer remains the same.

You can practically skip from pod to pod all the way to the spreader on the same turn.

The issue not neccessarily the bloom spreader it is more the RNG of units and reinforcements that ♥♥♥♥♥ me up. You go in. 5 million reinforcments showing up sorrounding you some even from the bloom spawn and its GG no RE. If you get the shaft in this game you just get the shaft and take the loss.
Metal Izanagi May 31, 2022 @ 9:17pm
Eh? The timer isn't that big of a deal...just close up the floor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and as long as you're not going way too slow, you should have enough time to get to the spreader and take it out.
