But in your case you need to control the transport seperatly anyway.
No matter how dire the situation is, this one dude with always find time to shoot at your transport. You would need them to be a couple of hundreds meters behind your inf to support them proberly.

Nope, everything goes it's own speed, and you can only Q move infantry since they don't have a separate road speed.
People have been asking for this for 14 years or so and Eugen have never considered it.
Microing all those separate units is what the game is about apparently.
For APCs/IFVs, press the "Attack Move" hotkey and select an infantry unit, and the APC will follow the infantry, providing fire support as it goes.
