Sony needs to do better marketing for their games
Sony has been doing a great job (aside of pricing) for their PC ports, they support Ultrawide, decent settings menus, DLSS, raytracing, etc. But I think the marketing and release dates are not doing so well.

Spider-Man and God of war absolutely exploded on PC, but that's mainly because 1) they were already massive hitters on Playstation and a lot of people now about those games, 2) In the case of Spiderman and uncharted they were showcased on a Playstation Livestream. Why I am pointing this out? because SackBoy is by far the "lesser" popular game from playstation on PC so far, the review quantity is kinda low for what came before, and yeah this game is not the same caliber as Horizon or other IPs, but I think it was still poorly handled by sony, the exposure was extremely low and was basically shadowdropped, like they announce it was launching on PC like 2 weeks after it was showcased, and yeah :papyrus: I know this was never going to sell like spiderman or whenever Bloodborne launches (SONY PLS WE NEED BLOODBORNE), but I think it was poorly handled, like why would they choose to launch Sackboy a smaller scale game just 1 week after uncharted launched on PC???? That probably affected sales because if I am choosing between a naughty dog game or a crash bandicoot platformer for the same price, well I am choosing Uncharted first...

I am personally not interested in sackboy, but I want Sony's IPs to succeed and older games getting ported to PC, I don't want this release to be interpreted by Sony like "PC gamers only want massive AAA games with ultra realistic graphics", Sony has really good games that not fit that description, specially older ones, PC players also like a lot smaller games or indies, look at Hades, Paper's please, undertale, cult of the lamb, etc. Those games were really popular here, and a lot of their IPs could benefit a PC release.

Sony should do this:
1) showcase their games on their Playstation livestreams specially smaller games, or maybe create a PC focused livestream, as they do with VR games.
2) Space out more their releases, uncharted , Sackboy and Miles morales are being launched too close to each other in my opinon
3) Port older games not only new ones, not having Uncharted 1-3 and god of war 1-3 is kinda weird ngl.
4) Don't price smaller games at 60/70 dollars, if uncharted is 50 it makes no sense sackboy is 60 in my opinion, it should've been 40

I think Shadow of the Collossus, Gravity Rush, Ratchet and clank and many other games could benefit a lot from a PC release, I just hope Sony can promote better future releases, but that's just my opinion :Mask3:

They need to release the games we actually want to pay that kind of money for, more like.
You seem to forget they actually want 60 bucks for this.

yeah that too, 60 dollars for sack boy is nuts, I can understand 50 for uncharted, but 60 for this one??? is crazy, this should be maximum 40 and that's a stretch. the only game I would pay 60 being "smaller" is Gravity Rush 1 and 2 but that's only because I am a fanboy of those, but other than that those prices are just too much for what they are :papyrus:

I preordered the plush edition of this game for PS4 and once again preordered it on Steam just because how much I appreciate this games existence. This could very well be the future of LBP so, I paid full price to show my support and desire for either LittleBigPlanet 4 and/or a sequel to this game with a full on create mode! Call me dumb and wasteful but, I wanted an excuse to replay this game. Also, I got a Steam Deck so, it's awesome to have Sackboy on the go again.

Nah it's fine I paid for God of war again for the PC release and I want to buy spiderman again in the future, is more that sony could make these releases more popular if they tried a bit more, I love they are moving to PC.

This is 95 dollars in AUD. That's just *comedically* overpriced.

Or maybe the game is just ♥♥♥♥ and nobody wants to pay $60 for this old game.

"Do you want to play all of Persona 5's story, or only the last 40% of Uncharted's?" simply isn't much of an actual question to begin with.

The issue isn't Sony's own games not being spaced out much, but rather them being bad value propositions on their own.

you do know Sackboy: A Big Adventure haven't received a permanent price drop since it's original release (November 12th, 2020), right?

Last time I checked: the PS4/PS5 version is still being sold at 59.99 USD Dollars MSRP. This isn't a Spider-Man: Remastered situation.

edit: you might as well wait til it goes on sale, or buy it on a 3rd part game code stores at a cheaper price.

If that's the case, then we might as well see how Spider-Man: Miles Morales' PC port is going to perform during the same week as...Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

I'm curious to see the results, but I'm confident that we'll see Miles outperform Uncharted despite facing much stronger competition in Warzone.

But this isn't a hardware launch window situation where early adopters are desperate to buy literally anything, either.

On PC in 2022, it's just one more game among many.

and yet, i'm seeing criticisms of the price point being 60 USD Dollars despite being two years old cross-gen game...although, it should've gotten a permanent price drop by now.

otherwise: go full /r/patientgamer.

And that matters in any way because...?
Overall the real killer is the price from what I see, this is a wonderful platformer game that is sadly being priced higher than the rest of Sony's catalogue. People can be upset that it isn't LBP (which I do want more than Sackboy) but marketing won't save it if the price is insane compare to most other games.

because I'm seeing people complaining about the price point, and I needed to remind everyone that it hasn't received a permanent price drop yet (even tho it should've gotten one much earlier).

but, this is PC Gaming: you can still find a way to buy it at a lower price (even if it's a recently released game) if you search around, in fact: let me help you out. [isthereanydeal.com]

it doesn't matter if it received a price drop in other consoles or not, this is pc gaming we don't pay 60$ for any and all sorts of games we only give games the price that they deserve and if they don't like that they shouldn't release their games on pc and set the price to 60$ when in reality this sack boy game is worth 20 to 30$ at most
