Why do you care why people care so much?
Why do you care about one person caring so much about why people care so much?
Go above 100fps and add vrr, (1440p/144hz gsync/freesync, at the very least), and play God of War for more than hour. After that, go back to the console version, and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
The thing about this game is that due to the speed of gameplay, 60fps is absolutely perfect. I mean they did their best to make the game feel good at 30fps, and they did a pretty damn good job.
For sure itll feel nice at 100+ FPS, however i think this game deserves to be played at 4k. The game looks absolutely incredible. If you can get 60fps at 4k i would highly recommend that over 1440p 144fps. Your experience overall will be far better. Gameplay isn't fast enough to benefit from 100+fps.
But then this is why PC has an advantage over consoles I suppose, even if they are very slowly starting to provide similar compromise options this generation.
It absolutely does. Once you spend enough time playing at higher refresh rates, 60 frames feels as if something is broken, honestly. You see claims like this often online and when i was using a 60 hz panel, i thought people were exagerrating, that 60 feels fluid and responsive. But it absolutely does not.
If you adjust to 144, 165, 240 etc, just browsing the web at 60 feels like the mouse cursor is broken. You perceive the 60 hz cursor as extremely choppy, just stuttering and broken.
After you're adjusted to high refresh rates, 60 is pretty much in the same ballpark as 30 - you're not gonna want to play games as such low framerates
Not all people see it that way, when i first got this setup and screen i was playing at 144 but for various reasons i locked it to 60 at first it was a little weird on my eyes but they adjusted quickly and it hasn't been an issue.
Like said befor: Even game menus w/ 60 fps are choppy like hell, so is the WoWs UI with 75fps and many other examples.
I´m on a 144hz and will never buy anything under again. That is for sure.
It definitely doesn't make the mouse magically better. I can't even find the mouse cursor on the screen half the time on the 360 Hz monitor because it's so low contrast.
For people like you in the future 144hz will be trash and choppy like hell, this path just have no end, it's like running in circles except it's more like ma spiral than a circle.
If you want to play at 144hz fine you can do what you want with your computer but saying that 60 fps are bad is plain wrong just because you have spoiled yourself too much to appreciate a game that way it is just ridiculous.
I have no issues at all both with 30 and 60 fps and I am glad that I'm able to enjoy that game even in its original state.
