is it worth the discount?

is it worth the 50% discount? debating if i should buy it and push it up above my massive backlog or to just wait for it to likely end up being the headliner for a humble choice bundle. i guess im more so asking if it would be considered a "must play" at its current price.

it's well worth the sale price. most fun I've had in a while.

it does need a particular taste, but if you're into R&M, this will be a blast

Wouldn't say it's a 'must play' but it is a good time if you like games like this. It reminds me a lot of Oddworld Stranger's Wrath with Justin Roiland's humor. Personally it has definitely been worth the 50% discount price.

It's hysterical, if you can run it. For me, it's fine on Deck and my aging laptop (32GB, i7, 1660TI), but screeches to a halt every time I fire when playing on my main machine (64GB, i9, 4090) no matter what I do. Min setting, max settings, in between, every time I fire it locks up to 1-3fps and then clears about 5 second later, back to 60+fps (depending on VSync on or not). Doesn't make any sense and still looking for a solution.

The humor is very subjective, for one. I didn't laugh once, but I was indeed entertained.

The gunplay, however, is bad. I really don't know why any rates the actual fun factor of the shooting component of this FPS anywhere above a D+. It's repetitive, and it doesn't care about balance at all as all the ammo is infinite and the guns themselves don't really have too many strategic uses above the primary gun (Kenny).

If you're looking for a seriously underrated "must play" FPS get Rage 2. Seriously, that game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing

Yeah Rage 2 was great it was basically modern Doom but open world for Gun gameplay.

Worth the sale price because of the funny dialogue voice acting but gameplay 5/10 for combat.

Most of the mixed reviews seem to be from people who speedrun it and ignore the world or aren't a match for the introspective humour. I'm loving it personally, one of the wildest rides I've ever been on. Nearly every wall everywhere has five kinds of absurd graffiti and it's so good it's a bit exhausting. Like the part of my brain that appreciates the jokes and absurdism burnt out and I've got to take a break for a bit.

High On Life is really, really funny, well worth the 25 bucks it currently costs on sale. I'm having a great and hilarious time with the game.

I actually spent the full price of entry but it is one of very few games I seem to finish these days. I think my only real gripe is the poor hud and level design. It is easy to get stuck being lost for a bit. I actually had a hard time in the first hour or so of the game doing some simple task. Usually I would just stop playing but the humor and just overall originality of the game had me coming back to eventually beat it. Some comment that the game is way too short but I disagree, it's pretty standard FPS campaign. Once you are all leveled up I see some replability to go through the past levels and try to get other trophies and loot that wasn't reachable at the time they were originally played. Overall, it's a solid game with really witty banter.
