Why is there no chapter select?
After playing this many times, and messing it up,trying to get all clues evidence and Hacket history, why oh why cant we just have a chapter select? Because once you make a choice, it saves.

That's kinda how choices are I guess. You make it and live with it.

No doubt this will frustrate me later if I choose to play again though ;)

I was hoping for some bonus features unlock like the making of, and that was missing too.

That last post is a reminder... There's no chapter select which is a pain, but you can roll back chapters. For example if you get one finish, and only need to go back to chapter 9 to do another, you can. You can also move the save file to your desktop and reload it later - so in that respect, you can force a "chapter select."

Just to clarify/add - there is a chapter select but you can only use it once. once you use it the game rolls back to that chapter and you need to beat the game again to use it

Personally i would have it completely changed, chapter select at any time + keep your collectibles. the immediate saving and overwriting really needs to be changed with a QOL patch/update. Let us have multiple saves and/or let us have a true chapter select at anytime after you beat the game AND a persistent collectible list

This is how it is on PC; you can do such tricks by moving your save(s) out of the folder it normally stores them and come back to them later. Or to back them up so you yourself can do a fresh play-through without wiping out old save progress, or to allow someone else to play such as a friend or family member.

This is something we as PC Gamers are used to and this is how it is for MANY PC Games. Something that people coming over to PC who are used to Game Consoles would not know right off the bat.

This is another reason I ensure things like Steam Cloud Saving and MS OneDrive are disabled so it can't go and backup/restore and then screw me all up in the end.

Those are some good points. I don't have OneDrive on my games but I do have Steam Cloud on.

Yes see that's going to cause problems over time if you ever plan to use the manual methods of backing/restoring save game progress files; or do a fresh play through. Sometimes it doesn't backup properly, or I've seen it restore an older save and screw up my new play-through.

I've had Steam Cloud turned off since around 2012; it's useless to me.

It's very easy to manually backup/restore your saves yourself over time.

GameSaveManager is also a great tool for this.

Yea I can't remember to do that. Besides, in all my years of gaming (and editing saves) I've never had the cloud mess it up. It's something to keep in mind, but I'd certainly never to manually back up my stuff on any kind of a regular basis lol
