Demon King summon order?
I cheesed the demon king for my first reincarnation and am trying to farm research now, but now he keeps summoning them so they go after him in the turn order instead of before, which means I now have a wall of 30 million health to get through before I can even think about fighting anything else.

Did I screw myself D: no one told me the turn order would change if I finished the storyline.

Quick edit: funnily enough, the phenomenal cosmic power puppeting my sleeping body in offline mode doesn't seem to have a problem with this and is listed as having defeated several of the summons and not the demon king himself, as I'd expect, but when I tab in to the battle in progress the turn order is as described above.

Another edit so anyone with the same question can read it: actually this seems possible still, as the other summons just die when the demon king does, so I'm guessing my offline self is just luckier than I am and also I'm just not observant enough and missed the "Defeated Demon King" line in the offline summary. I guess you really do just have to deal with it.

Final edit: Sorry, it's been a few days and I don't want to spam the message board, but for the sake of Google users everywhere: actually farming is still perfectly viable even if your team is pathetic and wimpy, because the Demon King killing everyone with Supernova awards you with loot for his summons as well.

Yes, that's how it is programmed. That way, you can't just farm it in the off-chance that he keeps casting Summon. It balances it a little because it forces the dungeon to reset, which takes a little bit... but at the same time, if you're fighting enemies you barely defeated in later areas (involving a lot of Gluttony), then it's a very good method of gaining research without having to fight them at their strength

It is also THE way to grind multiple drops of the rare summons. You need only do the pain of spamming floor 1 to get the first summon then your pal the Demon King will help you max them.

The Demon Lord staying at the front makes it easier if you're able to kill him easily (you need to actually pad your party with weaker units in the front so your main character doesn't one-shot him if you've been going to places like vast desert,) and all the summons die immediately when you kill the demon lord while giving their full drops. (Except bosses, they don't drop research, although that's kind of meaningless unless it's a boss harder than the demon lord himself, since you can farm bosses just as easily as the demon lord, anyway.) If the demon lord was like the rock golem and summoned things you had to kill to do damage to the boss, it would potentially take MUCH longer to beat the demon lord, just like the rock golem is insufferable until you can kill it in one shot.

If you somehow can kill the scarlet dragon but not absolutely wipe the floor with the demon lord afterwards, you can also just stuff your party with horrible combatants like the red slime that preferably take very long turns and waste the demon lord's time.

Also, for farming purposes, remember that, when fully seeded, the sludge slime gives +100% research amount and the dragon baby gives +200% +80% research drop rate. Wyvern gives +80% seeds if you need more of those.

Dragon baby is only +80% Bee Queen is +100%. Unless something way later increases he level caps those are the max seeded values of them.

After several days this is no longer a problem for me as I have beaten ED2 five times and can now sneeze on the demon king straight out of my father's house to kill him :P (Incidentally, if anyone has any tips on what on earth I should be doing now, please tell me. The thought of staying in the village for several real life days to farm sandwiches for 8B atk to beat Iari is terrifying, even if it is technically less effort than actively grinding SInspiration.)

To confirm, Dragon Baby is indeed only 80% while Queen Bee is 100% research drop chance.

HOWEVER... Boss summons don't drop research at the demon king 1 fight? If that's true I hadn't noticed!

Well, first off: are you using the Dark Ritual as frequently as you can? Inspiration is a great way to make yourself stronger. Because of all the different stat multipliers in the game, investing in Status Ups really helps. Case and point: I've done enough Pride challenges that I have over a 100% increase to my stats from that alone. Not to mention the 6.1x multiplier from having defeated the bosses in the Astral World. Which leads me into the second question: are you fighting the Hermit and Destroyer and leveling the summons from them? It takes ten times as many seeds, but their effects work even with them not in your party (at a 90% penalty, but 10% is still pretty decent)

Right, I just got the sludge slime stuck in my mind and listed it's +200% dark ritual rate after the research rate for some reason...
