The hate this game got is really undeserved,
It looks beautiful, plays great and has a great story.
Definitely recommend picking this game up at a sale.

Can never compete with DEAD SPACE.

Callisto's biggest flaw is that it lives in the shadow of Dead Space, and the obvious similarities are hard to ignore. It goes without saying that it's not Dead Space. However, it's definitely not a bad game either, and I found the story well-written and interesting enough to keep pushing through hoards of wannabe Necrophages. I recommend giving Callisto Protocol a chance now after its initial release.

horrible unoptimized game every few seconds i get stutters and random freeze on loading screens or worse

if you really want a dead space alike then get this on sale when its like 1 euro

i’m having fun. though very early in the game, the performance issues seem to be ironed out and the atmosphere is very good. it’s not quite dead space level but very good nonetheless. i got this game on sale and for the price i purchased it at, its very much worth it. it’s not the greatest game ive ever played but in a time where im stuck looking for something to play, this has been a good time killer for me. again, if youre interested in this game, get it on sale. its not worth $50 in my opinion but it is worth playing if youre a fan of the genre.

Two things i hate about this game: the poor performance on high end pc and the game is really boring.

I'm amazed how badly optimized this game is even on a 4090, 7950x3d, 64 gb ram 6000 mhz. This game has no reason to be this bad since it's not open world to require a world to be rendered or 100+ npcs.

I'm a fan of Dead Space and that's why i even gave this a chance, but this feels like a joke compared to the Dead Space series. There is no tension or something really scary, the game tries to scare you by jump scares and that's about it.

I got this game for 70% off and still feel robbed since this game is so bad. Don't bother buying this crap, just go play the 3 Dead Space games.

i feel bad as i write this, because its really depressing. its a pretty markedly unambitious attempt to make a game in the same vein as Dead Space. in terms of execution, the game is very average, front-heavy, and repetitive. there's some - but little - depth to it. the game is decent, and i don't hate the game, but it isn't good, and there are a litany of reasons why.

first ill tell you that the graphics are very good, and the sets, enemies, etc are very detailed. the sound design is also very good. alltogether, especially with the very good inclusion of photo mode, makes the game pretty visually stunning.

now, i'll tell you why i dont really recommend the game.
the main issue i have is that the game fails to build any new bridges, opting to cross directly and very noticeably over nearly the exact same ground of the previous games glenn schofield worked on. they wanted to make a game just like dead space, they told you so, and it shows: you are basically going to be doing the exact same stuff you'd be doing in the dead space remake, but with less depth. you will be stomping corpses for items, you will be crawling through vents (with nearly the same animation), you will be doing quicktime events, there will be pretty generic jumpscares, the health bar is almost exactly the same, the GRP is mechanically the same as stasis, dead space tagline 'shoot the limbs/shoot the tentacles' plastered over every wall, teligious cult seeking to use/spread the infection, and there is even the 1 for 1 falling through the sky QTE from dead space 2. it does all these things without being as interesting or nuanced as dead space.


these things individually arent really so bad but alltogether create a pretty boring experience. its a pretty shameless rehash of dead space that cant stand on its own two feet. i think there was something good being built here, but something must've broken along the way, and this is what remains. it's sad, their talented and clearly very interested team clearly did put a lot of work into it here, but something went wrong on the executive level

It is a rare ocassion when I do not recommend a game, but this is it...
It's a Dead Space knock-off with clumsy controls and terrible combat system. Even the story is very much like the same, along with the ending. I mean the absence of ending... If you want the real ending, buy the DLC... of course...

Improve the game's flow, especially when acquiring new weapons, to ensure a smoother progression.
Extend the game's length to offer more hours of gameplay.

Story and Character Development:

Enhance the character development to make the characters more memorable and engaging.
Add more cutscenes that delve into the prison’s background and characters' stories.
Max should remain alive for experiments in the prison.
Provide a different ending where the protagonist survives along with Dani, offering a more satisfying conclusion.
Art and Design:

Redesign the model of Ferris to better fit the game's aesthetic or narrative.
Create more epic and visually striking designs for the Biophage enemies to enhance the game's horror and excitement.

Dead Space was epic because of the variety of guns and the great upgrades. I hope they learn from it for Callisto Protocol 2.

If you like dead space then big chance you will like this game too. Yes you have a few bugs here and there but still enjoyable nothing game breaking. Honestly I hope we have a second game that will build on the good parts and fix some of the bad parts.
