Finally Glens Schofield wet dream came true and he made hes own Punch out game.
Jokes aside I wished this was much more than first Dead Space. But why this wasn’t evolved into something greater I will question.
The game has everything that you wished for survival horror paint. Striking visuals ripped my head off how next gen it looked. I mean this could be technical demo for your pc for testing revolution. And the scary atmosphere will reminisce about cult classic like Event Horizon. Meat and potatoes are all here but something is missing.
The lack of weapon choices and dynamic between fun and engaging combat I just not here. Sure you will enjoy those first moments for the first hours of the gameplay but the rest of the game will be gone in the wind.
I will give it positive review cause I appreciated that developers tried something new but I wished they were focusing more on fun gameplay than beautiful graphics.

This game is seriously underrated. As a huge Dead Space fan, I expected this one to be a failure but it is not. Played it recently, after all the technical issues were fixed, it looks and runs absolutely amazing in 4k on an OLED TV and RTX 3080 with High settings. Atmosphere, immersion, combat and enemy variety, details, changing environments...they're all there and very well done. Sure there are a few repetitive things in the game and quite a lot of Dead Space inspired scenes and stuff but as long as they are done right, I have no issue with that. I bought this game on sale but after finishing it I think it would have been worth full price. If Dead Space would be 10/10 this would be a close 9/10, a high quality game made by a clearly dedicated team with attention to details.

Buy it for the PS4/PS5 or what console you have - as the PC version is well shagged. Played it for over 3 hours now it won't load the game. No signs of any further support. DO NOT BUY.

I love when game doesn't give me an opportunity to test the mechanics that I just learned in a QUICK TIME ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TUTORIAL. I was trying to beat an enemy while dodging and blocking, but he got me several times. Guess what, on the 4th try when I respawned the games removes the enemy. Thanks for removing obstacles instead letting me overcome them and get better in the game.
Somehow this feels a downgrade from Dead Space.

What's the point of having a save file system if you're just going to load at the last checkpoint no matter where you save?? Also how is there no quicksave system in 2024? I'm genuinely asking. 0/10

Boy does Callisto Protocol get some flack. It really wants to be Dead Space with more emphasis on melee combat. It mostly accomplishes this task, while being more linear, less interesting (gameplay and story), and the scares being a lot less effective.

With all that being said, I still recommend this game to fans of action-horror games. Why? It looks outstanding, the acting is convincing enough, and frankly, there just isn't enough games like this out there with this kind of budget. It's breezy, accessible, and visceral as hell.

I've finished this on Series X, and bought it on Steam while on sale, and don't regret it.

Runs terribly even on my pretty good PC. The story is fine, the graphics are great, but it feels more like a graphical showcase than anything else. The combat is incredibly boring, the camera is awkwardly close to the character, exploration (what little there is) is unrewarding. The load time into the game is multiple minutes, and if you die you'll be waiting at least 30 seconds.
