If you're not mazing them, Dart Spitter with ice upgrade + Haymaker can lock down an area quite well. Flowers can help here again.
If you find a nice spot to throw enemies off the map or into a big grinder, Guardian Archers can distract them to stand on your Flip Traps longer.
Boom Barrel Dispensers can often be placed high above so the barrels explode on impact. Some traps will set them off automatically too, like lasers for example.
- Tar
- Ice Dart Spitter
- Shock Zapper (or Gravity Pillar)
- Confusion Flower (or Window of Butterflies)
- Fire Arrow Wall (or Deep Freeze, or Guardian Archers)
It's decently affordable for most maps, has good crowd control + elemental damage coverage. But It definitely not made for high scoring. This is my usual setup for them:

Flip traps with the upgrade to flip heavies is extremely useful in almost all situations. Obviously, you can flip them off cliffs or into grinders but you can also just flip them back the way they came to slow them down and cause a decent amount of confusion in the ranks. As long as you have the upgrade to flip heavies, they work great as a way to slow really big dudes down as well.
Stacking buzz saw launchers vertically along a wall in enclosed tunnels is a great way to create a bouncing wall of death, but if you go this route then don't include any dart spinners or flip traps as they will impact the buzz saws trajectory. I've found the best combination is to have one wall of a tunnel be freeze walls and the other be vertical bouncing blades. This allows for enemies to be frozen and then cut to ribbons.
Placing butterfly walls low, with a freeze wall on top of them may look a little weird but it still hits almost every enemy type with both walls (tiny enemies like kobolds being the exception). Conversely, placing the freeze wall low and the butterfly on top makes it so that the butterfly only triggers on large enemies and small ones can just walk past.
I will try to think of some others later, but I hope that helps!
