In both you defend your base (rifts in OMD) against hordes (of orcs & friends in OMD)
Also in both you use your character to place down traps and also use weapons to fight.
Between missions, you get to upgrade your traps and weapons too.
There are many shooter games from 3rd person view
Fortnite is battle royale
OMD is tower defense
I want to think the OP meant the (I guess less known) PVE mode of Fortnite: Save the world. Not the battle royale
Yes I'm pretty sure that's what he's talking about. I remember playing Fortnight when it first came out before that lame ass battle royale was released. Wasn't too bad.
