But I believe the old ports of Firis and L&S still had too many technical issues, so you're better off getting these new ones instead.
I think Sophie DX may be the only one that has been downgraded.
L&S has some problematic texture bugs as well:

When it comes to Sophie, I've been looking into more footage and it's looking like it was just that one location that was downgraded? Other locations that I've seen are looking fine when compared to the original (including trees and their shadows, though atm there's only videos of the early locations, of course).
Well. that bug exists because its using the lower quality textures of the switch version on those ship sails.
Seems that out of the 3, L&S is the one less affected by it, Firis has some of the same problem (low quality trees and shadows) on the areas around Dona (the forest village), i forgot the name of the forest, but its the place where you meet Oskar for the first time). The game is also missing most of the myst effects as well.
In that place, if you had the "misty" climate, the framerate would dip on the plain PS4, so only PC and PS4 Pro could run it smoothly, one can imagine that the switch had to remove some effects due to that.
But as you said, sadly theres not much footage of DX games' the latter stages in any of the 3 games, so its hard to compare yet (and i am not gonna replay the entire trilogy just yet... lol)
When it comes to Firis, I guess at least the DX version fixed the lighting when compared to the original PC version. But when it comes to that forest, I guess will have to wait until there's more footage to be able to compare.
At least it's nice knowing that these versions have problems, gonna wait until the trilogy gets cheaper, since I already have the originals and I'm not gonna have the time to play them any time soon anyway.
EDIT: For Sophie, what makes the changes in that specific location really weird is that not even the PS3 and Vita versions were like that.
PS3, original PC, PS5 DX (in that order):

Added new comparison from a atelier discord user, its looking worse by the minute :(

I seriously doubt I would've figured out something is looking worse. The only thing I can definitely say is that the game isn't looking better. (at least Sophie still seems to be incredibly toaster friendly)
Speaking of toaster friendly, I doubt they needed to adapt Sophie of all things for the switch. Who knows what actually happened to cause some "issues".
Then again. It IS the Switch. Might even be weaker than a freakin' Ps3.
Apparently the Switch version still stutters when playing undocked, so yeah they couldn't optimize a PS3 game for the Switch and just resorted to deleting assets.
glad i dodged this crap
Whatever you say about Koei Temco they do keep up their iron standards. No other company could withstand representing a rock bottom laughing stock for so long.
