Ok just wanted to add to the discussion. I bought the quest 2 hens and 1 rooster which are still there but I went and bought a second set of 2 hens and rooster and they went poof. Just noticed your ping about the doors. Will close them until bug fixed.

I never lost one. Even the ones newly hatched. Yeah, sometimes I can't find them in that moment but they alway turn up eventualy. What I do usually is going to the coop first every morning, pet them before thay start wondering around and then I continue with my daily chores. Never closed the door yet. Btw, I hope you guys have built a fenced area in front of the coop. >D

Yes, I've just lost 3 chickens, one went poof before my eyes. She was not outside and I have everything I need, including a fence. I only have 1 large egg but I will close the doors for now so I don't lose the only one left.

did you build fences so that they cant freely walk out of the barn into the open world? like in real life lol

if not, thats why.

I have my coop fully fenced. After losing 3 chickens in one particular game, I closed the coop door and the most recent disappeared chicken reappeared after about 3 in game days. It's like they were getting 'stuck' in the loading screen and that most recent one reappeared. Too late for the other two, I guess. Also, I have had one chicken get out of the fencing. (deluxe fencing).

Mine are all enclosed with fences and barn door closed and they still disappear overnight

Hello,

Lets trouble shoot this one because keeping the doors closed without opening them during the day has been working to prevent the random disappearing acts.
Were they linked correctly to the coop?
Do you have the heating and cooling system in place?
Did you leave enough food and water for them? (In the case of travelling to ranches)
Did you have any notifications about them in your daily report?
Do you see any of their green dots anywhere on the map? (long range not just local to your ranch)
If they were linked correctly what does the coop tell you are linked to it? i.e 3/6
