Please Help... Unable to Login... None of the Current solutions in threads work
Please help on this issue.

Have tried everything i see from the support pages and still have the unable to login error.

Things tried
- force run with -dx11
- hardwire connection instead of wireless
- making sure that KOFXV_Steam.exe is allowed in Firewall, Controlled Folder Access
- turned off firewall, controlled folder access, cloud protection, real time protection, tamper protection
- go offline in steam
- updating to latest graphics card drivers
- installing legacy Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime
- checking game file integrity via steam
- all drivers and windows up to date.
- run as administor
- modify shortcut
- reinstalled computer with no apps and only steam with KOF XV


Nothing works and I still get the error. (title screen error saying "Unable to Login" where they first prompt to Press Any Button.

Any help or suggestions from anyone appreciated.

My setup
- Alienware X17
- Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 22000)
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU
- 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.3 GHz
- Memory = 16384MB RAM
- DirectX version = DirectX 12

The machine runs Lost Ark online fine from steam so I dont think I have any hardware issues.

Hello there,

Thanks for providing your setup specs, we will have a look at this issue.

Just in case, try to start the game again, as possibly there was a server connection issue some hours ago.

Thank you SNK DEV for the holding response. Looking forward to some good news. As a further note, i have tried this over the last 5 days when i last bought the game.

I've been having this same issue ever since I bought the game 2 weeks ago. It has been very frustrating not being able to play it. I can play KOF 13 online with no issues.

I've tried
- force run with -dx11

- MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
- Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 19042)
- AMD Radeon Pro 5500M, Intel UHD Graphics 630
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9880H @ 2.3 GHz
- Memory = 4096MB RAM
- DirectX version = DirectX 12

Since I can play KOF 13 online with no issues i don't think this has anything to do with being on a Mac.

The game requires a minimum of 8GB of RAM

my mac has 16gb of ram. i bumped up the ram of the windows virtual machine to 8gb but still got the error.

ram isn't the issue. or the game wouldn't boot up at all. or it would run but be sluggish. there's something in the networking code. i've seen posts saying there was a similar issue with the new samurai showdown and they had to fix it there to.

Dear SNK Dev, did you manage to find out the issue? Is this going to be fixed in a patch? I have no issues with other games so I doubt its a Windows Security setting, unless KOF XV is being classified as a malicious program for some reason/ no credentials.

Dear SNK Dev, just saying as well, if you are still investigating this issue, at least allow the game to be played in offline mode please... TT, pretty sure that enhancement would be a more straightforward item to address quickly via next patch...

Aside, further tests on my system (and still failed)
- connect directly to internet wired (without router)
- installed other fighting games to see if any connection issues (none identified)
- reinstalled KOF XV again
- added microsoft account to login of windows instead of local account (in case Microsoft doing the sneaky)
- opened up privacy settings (sharing information etc, diagnostics, again in case Microsoft doing the sneaky)

Hello there,

We just release a patch that possibly will fix many issues, please try to update the game and check if this solves your issues.

We are working hard trying to address other issues as well, so we will possibly release other patches soon.

Hi SNK Dev team, unfortunately it does not seem to have addressed the problem. Could we at least allow it offline gameplay in the interim while this is fixed please.

Hi SNK Dev team, not sure if this helps in investigation but the other observation I have when launching the game is that there appears to not even have an attempt to connect (to login) in first place. i.e. the "loading circle animation" does not even show up. Nothing shows up as blocked in the history of blocked apps in Windows Security so it appears for some reason KOFXV is not even trying to connect in first place?

PLEASE HELP...

Hello there,

This seems to be weird, as the game should be playable offline, meaning there should be a spec or setting issue on your side. I also tried on a PC with lower specs than yours and the game could be played in Window mode.

I will ask the Dev team again about this, but cannot promise it will fix your specific issue.

Just in case, try to check the writing permissions of the game folder.

Hi SNK DEV, thanks to respond. I checked and all provided full control to all files and folders for (just to check if the issue) all users on the computer (which is just me + default admin, authenticated user etc accounts). It didnt work unfortunately.

Is there anything else that you can advise for me to check please.
