I just found out that KOF allows the player to input very slowly, I inputted 2141236 in half a second and the climax can still come out. Guess I'll just have to calm myself down during fighting and everything will be fine.
Now in regards with XV I use a 360 controller which is not the best but still manageable.
I can just recommend you to practice, practice and you will eventually get used to kof timings. And if you are planning in getting a new device I'd personally go for a mixbox if I could afford it right now.
As for controller, I'm pretty sure I'll stick with my keyboard. It's just a hitbox, but extremely customizable. Plus, KOF XV's keyboard support is really good.
KOF needs precise inputs, narrow windows sometimes, one diagonal "supposedly" missed and the super does not come out... Which is frustrating wheter you come from any other Fighting Game or not. But you say "I don't know why, but I accept this grinding course. I don't know why, but now I'm into it". Then you go to online, where you can practice what you have grinded and where it is supposed to be the fun of your effort, and what do you get??? "An error occurred" hundreds of times. 50 ms connections that when you play becomes 250 ms and high rollback fames. Incredible lags. Long times without matches. Matches against ranks 12 that plays like INMORTALS because they play room matches. Having to reboot the game. Disconnections with penalties FOR YOU. And random Unreal Engine's crashes.
Who is going to "play" with this??? Which kind of people is going to stick to this and being able to find the fun having docens of alternatives that works well???
Good shot on you own foot SNK. And with this one there are... enough to give up on you.
Exactly what happened to me. I'm an experienced fighting game player who wants to try out another renowned fighting game franchise. The difficult input is not a big obstacle to me, I can overcome it with not much effort. And what happens next is absolutely unacceptable. Error during matchmaking, again over again. I spent about an hour to find one single match. Although the game runs smoothly once I get into a match, the process of finding a match is just unbearable.
And of course as everyone would do, I googled "kof xv an error occurred". And then, guess what I discovered? This stupid game uses your Windows region to determine which region you are assigned to, and you'll have to change your region in Windows' settings to choose the closest or a populated region. LMAO I don't even have Windows. How am I supposed to change my "Windows Region" in my "Windows Settings"? They can at least have a look on my IP address if they really are too lazy to make a "Server List" menu.

All those BS aside, this game is really fun to watch though. I watch all the weekly TNS KOF XV tournaments. Now I'm going enjoy this game on Youtube just like before.
Guilty Gear or basically any other ArcSystemWorks fighters (FighterZ i.e.) are basic af when it comes to input, they are literally button smashers. Frames? Precise input? What's that you say, lol. I'm not good at KOF, but Skull Girls is a pretty point to start off to learn all these kind of stuff.
AS FOR THE ONLINE ISSUES... SNK has never been known to make multiplayer games with stable connections. xD (KOF 2002 UM, I SEE YOU)
You offend me.
If you really want to start an argument, you should at least know that things like "Option Select" and "Kara" are universal things that exist in basically every single Japanese fighting game and they usually require both precise motion and precise timing. There're plenty of 2 frame input windows in Guilty Gear games too. Either you don't know this kind of things or you're just a low level gorilla player who knows nothing but button mashing. The fact you're not good at KOF makes a lot of sense to me.
It doesn't matter which game you play, you don't get into high rank without knowing frame data. I read KOF XV's frame data even before I buy this game, only to understand what those KOF players doing in Youtube videos.
Yeah, no one ever dies in a single, cheap combo in 98 or 02 or any other KoF game lmao
You know, it's fine not to remember how old SNK fighting games work, but you can look this stuff up so easily. It's making you guys look silly to keep bringing up how much different older KoF games are...
