there is a matchmaking problem since release but snk didnt fix it stubborn mindset , they never care about online like in samsho and kof xiv before, so it's a dead discord game.

If you know people to play it's a good game, but if all you do is netplay, you aren't going to find much.

Asia is one of the most active places regardless of time. If your katakana name isn't for show, you'll have no problem finding matches.

It's like...I get it, you wasted hundreds of hours learning a dead game and you're unsurprisingly better than me. So instead of me playing ranked and practicing against opponents who are sometimes around my skill level, or giving better players someone to beat up on while they wait for a better match, I'm now spending 100% of my time offline in the lab and fighting the CPU.

It's all just typical FGC stuff, but you'd think with the low player count that you wouldn't want to give a "♥♥♥♥ you!" to new players.

So looks like the only people that were willing to discord match around and etc etc are what they say " the killers" and new blood just get chewed up.

Well thats a way to help the playerbase especially on a new game

That's the population of every fighting game after a while. Newcomers and intermediate always get chewed up or quit. The rest slowly gradually quit depending on how good the game is, netcode is good but the matchmake is atrocious. Those of us who boot it up sometimes basically just go to rooms or find someone hosting. It's the foolproof way to get games.

E thuggery era has always been like that, it basically never changed from back on 2009 SF4 launched and your average joe was getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and an intermediate scrub would just taunt you out because he knew the basic 50% hp conversion of focus into Ultra. You either quit or you persist. To be fair most people are not socially inept and just either beat you up fast or just random roll picks. SF Tekken and KOF are what you'd call the normies and then there's the anime fighters who are bonafide autismo retardos when it comes to social cues though. Either suck it up or go to a shooter.

No need for such biblical prophecy.

Where would anyone even find all these fighting games with tons of active players who are always around your skill level? This genre has been niche for over a decade. No one really seems to be interested in acknowledging this simple fact.

"Dead game" with hundreds or thousands of people playing it lol. DnF Duel just came out and it's not doing that much better.

Look, this is a competitive genre... I don't know what exactly you're expecting to find, but I can tell you right now that you can still find way worse fanbases.
