This is Remake INTERgrade, which is Remake plus its DLC (INTERmission) baked in.
And the forst game is a 40hours game that covers the 7 first hours in Midgar. And Rebirth is Part 2. It is kind of an open world game and it stops at a very importent part of the original game (No spoiler).
I saw a lot of articles speculating about a potential PC release date, but that was all there was, speculation.
The theory is when Rebirth finishes whatever exclusivity contracts is restricting the release to PC and the Steam marketplace.
To summarize, FF7 is being remade into a trilogy:
Part 1: FF7 Intergrade - Originally a PS4 exclusive, now on PC
Part 2: FF7 Rebirth - Currently a PS5 exclusive, will launch on PC soon, probably next year
Part 3: FF7 "Reunion" (title unconfirmed/speculation) - Not yet announced, probably a late PS5 title as well
You might've gotten some confusing answers on the internet because part 1 was originally just titled "Final Fantasy 7 Remake". The "Intergrade" version is sort of a "complete edition" that released on PS5 with the Yuffie DLC and was later ported to PC. It has nothing to do with Rebirth. Rebirth is the sequel to Intergrade.
Correct, Rebirth has not released on PC yet.
People speculated that, but as some of us pointed out, that was not a safe bet. It was a three month guaranteed exclusivity window with Sony for PS5. That came and went, and still no announcement.
They actually advertised the exclusivity was only for three months. But that's of course the earliest it could have been, and obviously nothing happened yet.
My guess is right around the year mark, i.e. end of February/beginning of March.
If this preposition is correct, does that mean that Remake Intergrade will have a savegame transfer state option?
Like if used, Rebirth will start off all the characters as having the stats/gear from what was earned in the first game.
If so, then I assume a player coming into the new game without having played the first chapter will be at a disadvantage in terms of stats, gear, etc.
The articles speculating on PC release date stated that there will be an additional delay due to Epic Games' rivalry with Steam, that EG doesn't want Steam to have the game on the same day the release into their storefront goes live.
No, Rebirth does not carry over anything from Remake save. You only get two bonus Summon materia for having Remake save.
I can not seriously believe I have to fight Jenova's arm as starter level.
Which 2 materia are earned?
Not sure why Epic would have any say in that unless SQEX signed a contract with them for all the games in the trilogy, which I would doubt.
I don't remember what benefit was obtained from an ME2>ME3 transfer, but I think level just carried over.
That is probably the reason behind the speculation.
If Epic did this once with the first part of the game, then they might use this sales tactic again.
