Fully voiced?
is it fully voiced? (Japanese)

It is not fully voiced. The original game is, but not the English version. This is because there are many high profile actors and many complicated licensing issues on top of the high cost for them which wouldn't have been realistic to be able to afford. There is however a fan voice restoration patch that basically just takes the files from the Japanese version and just by placing them in the English version to overwrite them and get all the voices. Without the patch, only 9 of the main characters are voiced within a cast of about 50 or so characters.

Wait, so there is no option to use japanese voices with eng text, which exists in pretty much all translated VNs?

You have to use some custom patch?

If japanese voices are not included that's definitely a no-purchase situation

No, there is Japanese voices with English text, it is just that many characters who have voices in the original instead don't have their voices in the official English release because of licensing cost and other obstacles unless you use the fan patch. Only about 9 of the main characters have their voices without the patch.

I've played a lot of VNs, but never seen such a horrible and bizarre licencing deal.
Why would I pay for a game if a huge portion of its content is cut out?

That is up to you, and this certainly isn't the first time an official translation had issues affording the voices such as the original release of Kara no Shoujo until MangaGamer was able to afford them later.

Both the dev and publisher for original release are listed as Minato Soft.

So its the devs themselves withholing part of their own game from getting into a global version then?

One thing if the devs lose the rights to their own game to the publisher and the publisher doesn't care much, but this doesn't seem the case here?

Not Minato Soft directly, primarily the voice agencies the voice actors are affiliated with asking for huge sums of money.

Well, that's disappointing...
Never known a vn to have voices removed for english release,
that just doesn't work for me

The voice patch should work, because the patch only overwrites the already existing soundfiles in the game and doesnt change anything else
I think the Vpice patch only doesnt work with the All Age release, because the voice patch also contains the voices from the h-scenes but maybe im wrong
I only tried it with the jast version i bought, which contains the same files like the steam version after the DLC

I can confirm the JAST Voice Restoration patch also works on Steam version.

Ohh yes! But you still gotta buy the DLC from Jast for the full content right

Yup Voice patch and Jast dlc both work without any issues.
