Frequently Asked Questions
Release Window
At this time it is still too early to know a release window. Despite the infrequent updates we've been hard at work on the game and will announce a release window as soon as we are able to.

Graphics Options
The goal of the game is to look and feel like a late PS1 game, but we understand that some of the effects aren't for everyone. You can change the aspect ratio, resolution, field of view, toggle polygon jitter, and toggle texture warping.

Gameplay
The game will be a focused linear singleplayer narrative driven shooter. It is still an action game at heart, but a more deliberate, slower paced one. In addition, we’ll have extra-difficult modes for expert players.

There are no plans for multiplayer at this time.

Languages
We can’t commit to any additional languages yet, as we don’t have the resources to fund translations ourselves. We’d love to make Compound Fracture playable in as many languages as possible, and we’ll investigate our options closer to launch.

Controller Support
The game will have full controller support and rebindable buttons.

Accessibility Options
In addition to subtitles, we’ll be exploring a variety of additional accessibility features. If there’s anything that’d be particularly helpful to you, please let us know!

Mac/Linux version
We’re exploring both, but because of our limited ability to test these platforms we can’t make any promises just yet.

Demo/Early Access
We will know whether or not we will have a demo closer to launch. We have no plans to release in Early Access.

A slowpace action? So it's more like a survival horror for the atmosphere. I like that.
I tried a lot of retro Fps in these years and this one seems very good from that little gameplay video.
For the translation i can do the italian if you want. Free.

Thankyou devs!

Can i ask for the hardest mode to be IRONMAN MODE style where u can literally only save a few times ? or maybe just have an option for it in any of the difficulty modes, just for that extra replayability and also could add it as an extra achievement.

Or a no save at all option like speedrun.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Graphics: GeForce 9800GT
DirectX: Version 11

...this has to be incorrect.

Actually, I'm hoping this will run on R5 Stoney Ridge [AMD A9/10/12? laptop] to gift it.

The system requirements are mostly guesswork at the moment. It will definitely need dx11, although we might be able to make a vulkan build too.
In general, if it runs at all (ie, dx11 is available) we expect it to perform fine on pretty low spec machines.

Plans for Resident Evil (did Dino Crisis have them too?) style unlockable cheat items and infinite weapons and possibly modes?

Hopefully it runs on potato laptops without too much fiddling! (i7-4710HQ nvidia840M 12GB RAM Win10 here)

Will it be possible to disable post-processing effects?

The possibility of unlockable cheats/modes will be addressed in the future.
It should run fine on any system running at least dx11 (a requirement out of our control).

The only real post-processing in the game is dithering which will likely be optional. The game resolution can also be raised to match your monitor resolution, if you were referring to the "low-res" look as post-processing.

Can you make sure that the main character will be a hot red headed babe? My purchase depends entirely on whether or not the mc is a red headed babe.

hey everybody. die games looks pretty awesome, if you need support on the 3d site, hit me a message. i work as environment and prop artist.
Here's to hoping we get a T-Rex akin to the one from Dino Crisis.
Will the eventual Demo be part of a Dread X or Haunted PS1 Demo Disk collection?

For the Linux version, would happily help test (I run https://www.gamingonlinux.com/ ) and I am sure plenty of others would be happy too.
