I was gonna get this for my kids but 2K having its name on this is like a warning label.

Games not even out and they're talking about a Year 1 pass with 4 seasons. Because ya know what a LEGO racing game needs; a battlepass/season pass system. Be prepared for P2W parts n sh*t, I just wouldn't be surprised.

Hotwheels with lootboxes and Lego with battlepass/season pass crap.

Typical 2K game loaded with predatory micro-transactions and subscriptions for seasonal passes. I'm sure their will be a level you reach that becomes so difficult that it becomes no better than a mobile game with "forced" Pay-to-win! Or if it's like NBA 2K will just be difficult right at the start!!! Also lets not forget that 2K treats it's PC community as if they don't exist. Ignoring complaints and having the worst customer support I have ever seen! I will never buy another 2K game again. 2K is an absolute atrocious greedy video game company!

Yet there is no proof or anything that, that will happen. you do realize every game nowadays has a battle pass and seasons, does it make them predatory? no it does not. and P2W gets thrown around in all games; yet rarely any have it. Skins yes, but that's cosmetics, Battle pass tiers, that's pay for convenience but in the end skins are skins, it does not offer you a advantage nor does it impact the game. if you think it does then you need to reevaluate what games are to you. and disliking a publisher i can understand, not a fan of 2K either after what they did with Mafia, but then on the other hand they do a great job with Civilization and Xcom.

We'll see. There is already confirmed in game currency so it's already not looking good.

I will tentatively follow it as I do any game that interests me. The premise is very appealing. But the developer and publisher have earned strong skepticism from me due to issues with their WWE 2K titles. I will certainly be circumspect and cautious.

I make a point not to pre-order ever and I do not trust 2K at all, but I'll keep an eye on this game since I liked Lego Racers as a kid.

And then, on top of that, you have a studio developement that worked, as of late, mostly on NBA 2K and WWE 2K titles that are yearly titles with copy/paste with very few good stuff added each year (if even something added worth mentioning)

And you use a franchise name that will make a lot of peeps dream of an awsome game, and you can potentially have a "insert any name you want here"

Not going to pre-order, probably not going to buy either, knowing how 2K treated their fanbase with the NBA title and the servers closing things after only 2 years when the caracter you played needed to be "online" to be played... so you cannot continue your career (solo play) past that moment, leaving you with a game with 1/4 of components still working after that.

But 2K.... seriously, the way you treated your customers, some may remember and not buy things afterward.... smart commercial move.

They are going to make a game with limited content.
This means they already are locking content behind DLC, passes, coins etc to sell you later.
There will be coins, vehicles, mini figures, season passes.

I am going to go out on a limb and assume it will be expensive like real Lego is too, just like what Hot Wheels did with all the garbage they added for extra. It's pretty sad really because the people wanting these things are either children or hobbyists and they sure will be taken advantage of.

Everyone has different opinions, but I think I speak for most gamers when I say that "we" are tired of our full games being sliced up into DLC/season pass/currency pizzas to have later, when they're cold and bleh. If I'm paying the $100 AUD this game costs, I sure am not paying them any extra money for a small amount of garbage like minifigs, vehicles, coins and season passes. People are sick of this crap.
