I'm going to do neutral first, just to unlock the characters. Use it as a building base, not sure how much of your resources carries through when chariot travelling at that point.
Wait til you find out he has a canon love interest too.
That's just a false rumor, you really shouldn't spread them.
You'd think they could just put a disclaimer that voice lines involving your name would be disabled if you choose a custom name.. I would be fine with that.
Everyone understood he had a canon name. I just prefer seeing my own name, because it's better.
Yikes, megalomaniac much? Do you go to the movies and get upset you aren't in the story too? I've heard some silly things but this stuff takes the cake.
If that's true, then it lends further credibility to the possibility that we'll be getting multiplayer features in the future.
You can't change his name, because the game is fully voice acted all the way through. Meaning the characters are scripted to address him as Denam.
There's no immersion-breaking here here since Denam is not a self-insert.
I'm not an active part of a movie, but I am an active part of a game that I'm playing. I, the player, am making the decisions which shape the story. It's a shame that so many of you are defending this limitation because of the voice acting. While the voice acting is a neat addition, it would not have taken much effort to mute the segments where Denam's name is mentioned, and insert the player's custom name.
For $50, I think we deserve that much. Love the game, but I hate to see features being taken away from us.
Its honestly the only complaint I have on this edition so far. It kills a bit of immersion.
I understand they removed it due to voice acting. But it would not have been hard to adjust the dialogue so it didn't need to be changed.
It could have been worse. I could have been stuck with 'Vice' as a name.
I know denim is a type of clothes, but who cares? I want my Denim back!
I don't usually name the protagonist as myself anyway, in games that have pre-written characters. I do self-insert for a recruited soldier though, both in TO and FFT.
It's a simple solution to the problem you're pretending to have.
