Ring of the Dead: Drop Rate?

Alright, I keep reloading the 33rd floor battle for Palace of the Dead, hoping to obtain a Ring of the Dead from the female Cenobite, as the guides say she's supposed to drop it.

But all I keep getting from her is leather gloves and other garbage loot from the rest of the enemies in the map.

Do I need to beat a run of Palace of the Dead before the rings finally have a chance to drop, or am I just having terrible RNG?

I saw one comment where somebody said it took them around 40 tries to get an Exsanguined Rood to drop in the San Bronsa Ruins, which seems to be rather harsh.

It seems only dropped after you met belze 2nd fight at 40ish. after that they start dropping in 33 etc

But if I've already beaten Floor 41, I can't double back and use the ring unless I restart the dungeon from scratch.

I wanted to get a Lich as quickly as possible by grabbing the ring on Floor 33, then leave and go rescue Catiua.

Palace of the Dead being 100 floors deep is a long, grueling, boring slog. And the inability to disable level sync makes it even worse. I've got the levels and the gear to plow my way through this dungeon, only for the game to heavily nerf me for whatever reason.

This dungeon is neither fun, nor exciting. It is a chore, one which I have little interest in completing more than absolutely necessary.

If it wasn't for the fact there are certain paths which allow you to skip floors, I would just say 'screw it' and not even bother.

No, I can't. Ring of the Dead can only be used on Floor 41, and you can only visit each floor once per run through. So it doesn't matter if I get the Ring on floor 53, since it will be useless until I leave and come back in.

I saw a video of somebody showing you can use Exsanguined Rood anywhere, instead of only on the 3rd floor of the Tower of Law, but didn't know if it also changed for the Ring of the Dead.

I saw a video of somebody showing you can use Exsanguined Rood anywhere, instead of only on the 3rd floor of the Tower of Law, but didn't know if it also changed for the Ring of the Dead.

I saw a guy using Ring of the Dead in Almorica Castle in training mode. Now I have to get a ring to drop in the PotD lol....

Just as I wrote this, one dropped at level 99. I guess it's a guaranteed drop at level 99 and you don't HAVE to use it on level 41 anymore (it can be used anywhere in the game).

It's a slog because you're doing it before lv40. If you finished heim first and got to lv40 you'd also find summon/draconic magic at floor 24 shop, also rank3 aoe spells unlock at that point in the regular shop/dark one at deneb's. After that you just set up the AI with Catiua princess since she can use the light summon in this version and a bunch of shamans with summons, a couple melee units and the AI will do the rest. Also if you farm winged rings from the gryphons at floor 21 you wont even need to check on the AI anymore

No, I'm doing it after level 50. I've already beaten the main story with the Law - Lord route, and finished the first CODA to get the max level cap.

I've also beaten the elemental temples and obtained their apocrypha spells, as well as their crafting blueprints.

Palace of the Dead has Level Sync that you can not disable, even if you've already beaten the floor previously. You're forced to play at a reduce level / gear setting.
