Reliable Hydra Spawn?
So, I managed to tame Dragons from all the elements (Fire, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Ice, Water, Light, Dark). Only thing I haven't tamed is a Hydra, but these are significantly more difficult to find. I think I've only come across maybe 3 or 4 of them in the whole game up to this point.

Unless I'm mistaken, I only need the Hydra left to get Deneb as a Wicce? So does anybody know a good spot to find one of these multi headed sneks?

I think the lightning shrine should spawn some.

There were two in one fight in the final dungeon I believe.

If you're in WORLD, there are a few story battles that always have them.
If not yet, elemental shrines and PotD they sometimes show up.

You can find them in the early floors of the Palace. Heres one way- When you go into the Palace, scout (When it lets you). If you see a "Scylla" (A palate swapped Hydra) retreat and come back....It wont take but a couple of tries before that stage has Hydra's instead of scyllas. If you see one, there is a chance the other will spawn there.

I REALLY wish they would have let us recruit the pallet swapped enemies this time around. Some of them look cool.

Anyone have thoughts/opinions on which dragons are worth using?

Flood Dragon is good, their breath can cause AOE Breach.
Dark Dragon also (higher HP) and their breath can cause Enfeeble.

Going through the Palace of the Dead will get you all the monsters at one point or another.

Arc and Dark are hands down the best dragons, as they are the best tanks. Since most stages w/elements that arent light or dark will struggle with them, and if you check the battle, you can either take light on light or dark on dark for a better tank, or opposites on those stages for more damage. Their breath attacks are great as well. Really ANY dragon is good in this role, but those two are the ones I have had the best time with.

Cockatrices are great for control, as their petrify is pretty reliable. Hydra's are my personal favorite, but I like those on ANY game so I am biased when it comes to them.

Found 4 guaranteed hydras. Go to the bottom of the "thunder" temple (The one furthest center-south on the map).

I second this. My current team setup has a TK (both fears), Flood Dragon, Beast Tamer (hawkman) and a cleric, and they can basically take on an entire army by themselves with all the boosted damage, breaches and fears.

Pff, 8 Flood Dragons and make Denam a Beast Master. :V Or you aren't hardcore enough.

Hawkman Beast Tamer is low key one of the greatest things to happen to my party.
Being able to constantly stay within range to use Empower Beast/Dragon even if my monster is an octopus that swam across a small river or a gryphon has been a game changer.
It's too bad the zombie hawkmen in Ch2 Phorampa only ever seem to be Rune Fencers. If I could have a zombie hawkman beast tamer with 4 zombie octopi, that would be so ridiculous to watch in action.

Wonder if that's a legit build now, beasts are fast due to no equipment, and empower make them strong.
