Changing To Lord? Do This First!
For those players who may not be aware, the Lord class (exclusive to Denam) is unique in its ability to use almost every skill and spell available in the game. The catch to this versatility, however, is that it does not learn these abilities naturally on its own. You have to unlock them from the different classes first and then carry them over.

Therefor, if you're thinking of making Denam into a Lord, it is highly recommended you follow these steps.

1 - Reach the current level cap. This should be at least 36 by the time the Lord class becomes a possible option for you.

2 - Obtain 1 of every other class mark. Most of these can be bought from the store by now, but some of them (such as the Warlock / Witch) can only be found on drops.

3 - Have Denam cycle through every other job first. When a character goes through a class change, they retroactively gain access to all the abilities that they would have unlocked up to their current level. This is why it was important for Denam to reach the level cap.

4 - Finally change to the Lord class. Assuming you made Denam every other available class first, you should now see he has access to a crap ton of abilities and weapon styles to choose from!

thanks ofr the info

do we know if class learn new skill from 32 to 50 ?
and... now the question... which skills for a melee denam ?
considering we have 1 weapon skill + 3 free skill

skill 1 -> weapon
skill 2 -> 2Xattack
skill 3 -> pm conserve ?
skill 4 -> meditate ? or infuse light on weapons ?

seriously the 4 skills (well 1 weapon skills + 3 slots) is frustrating more than tactical... :s

While I not got to this part yet, and the info here will help. But I do have one question, is the Lord class worth getting on a first play / lawful run? or should I skip this for the princess class? and get the lord later? Thanks in advance. (never played this game until now, so fairly new at it)

The princess ending is thought to be the "true" ending while the lord ending is the "bad" ending. So there is that, both classes are unlocked at the same time and depends on if the sister is alive or not. The princess class in the old iteration used to be the strongest if not at least one of the strongest classes in the game and made the sister be one of the strongest units in the game.

The class has seemingly been nerfed by quite a bit in this version so it's not as good anymore while the lord class which was one of the strongest has stayed the same and is now probably the strongest class in the game. So from a gameplay perspective the lord class is better to get I'd say but from the ending perspective it's probably better to get the princess class first, though I personally don't agree with how the true ending plays out for the MC to be honest, depending on which route you took up to it.

Thank you for the answer, tricky choice then, but I probably go for the true ending and do a lord class another run.

Oh, so, after changed to lord, should we want to learn the skills that are gotten from higher levels from other classes, we will need to switch back and forth again, correct?

That is correct. I even personally tested that out. You only gain access to the skills you have already unlocked from the other classes. You don't learn new ones unless you switch back. The exception to this are weapon skill levels and finishing moves.

Fusilier also seems to have gotten a tremendous buff. According to the wiki's I read, they used to be the worst class in the game when it came to stat growth. But I just got access to them, and these crazy bastards are shooting the enemy for somewhere around 400 damage!

I've had Denam using two handed swords for most of the game, and it seems to be working nicely. I wouldn't recommend spears, as I have had consistent problems with accidentally hitting my own units with their two square attack radius. One handed swords may be good, if you're planning to build him as a tank, but I personally prefer to go for maximum damage, rather than turtle strategy.

I mean, if you're doing a first run without a guide, you'll probably get the lord class regardless if you want to or not. Coming into the sequence where the story turns on this and you get access to either class with no knowledge and it's extremely stacked in the favor of getting Lord over Princess.

The 4 spell/skill limit is so frustrating to have with the Lord class though...

Maybe not. In my personal experience, there's only a handful of skills between each class which are actually worth equipping. As a Lord, you have the freedom to swap out and replace the skills based on what you currently need for the mission.

It's not enough. There's the weapon skill, stat boosts, other effects. The PSP version gave you 10 slots, now we have 4. Even if some usefull skills are on gear, it's still not the same kind of freedom of choice, it's worse.

And it's even worse yet for spells.

Yeah, the limited spell selection is pretty crap when it comes to healers. But for offensive casters, I mostly just hyper specialize them towards a specific element. My go to option right now is to give them T 1-3 of their projectile spell, then T-2 of their AoE spell. I've barely used any status effect spells, seeing as how they tend to miss, or just not work most of the time.

Thing is, it would be nice to be able to just go ahead and play solo using Lord. This is much more unreasonable now than it was in the PSP version. Of course it won't affect a lot of people but it was nice to have the option. Just isn't the same anymore.

Not really, it's a good thing they don't allow one solo OP unit anymore and force you to do class synergy.

The 4 skills you want are Weapon, 2x Attack, Mighty Impact and Phalanx. This basically makes your Lord a God of Destruction that really doesn't go down. Pick 1 Proc Card and Phalanx will proc pretty much 80% of the time. With Phalanx, pretty much everything was doing less than 30 damage to me and I had 2k HP.
