Light armor is always something you can use IF you are good enough. It usually has the best damage, but also you can die easly.
This is just how it is, I finished ng+ on light armor l and it's just like VeraelHasta said. Your choice to wear light armor, get good or swap to heavy armor. You can also overlevel your morale and just facetank everything.
The problem is though, it was completely different in nioh 2, the defense difference between light and heavy armor wasn't so vast that it made using light armor unviable. The main difference was the "toughness."
Changing the gear will also mean I won't be able to get the set bonuses I get from the libationer set.
Def needs balancing.
but what you were saying about the APE lol at this point his moves should be easy to read, regardless if can get one shotted by one of his red attacks, there are very easy to parry or dodge.
If you wanna run light armour you'll need to get real good about deflecting and spirit management because as you've observed you cannot take hits.
I do agree though the ground loot should be updated to account for your higher level.
Wait, what!? You got destroyed by the ape boss!? That thing is easy. There's a sub mission later against just the ape boss that's one of the best missions to farm 5* equipment from, because he's an easy-quick kill.
Bro, I ran heavy armor through all of NG and NG+, it gets hit for less. I also had a decent amount of points put into wood stat, so I had more HP and spirit defense as well. Eating a red attack took about half my HP bar instead of the whole thing.
The weight of your armor doesn't correlate with your damage output in any way, especially in NG+ with a 150 level cap. Plenty of weapons scale very well with earth. You can get B agility with heavy armor with about 34 points into earth. Imposing stab (earth) is also very good damage if you slot stone attack on each of your pieces, and still does really good damage even in NG+.
Bosses like this ape boss for example get totally and completely eviscerated with imposing stab spam. It hits for 150 damage ticks, so 150x5 = 750 damage straight up with no fatal strike, you can blast him with 2-3 before landing the fatal strike, and with another 2-3 after landing a fatal strike. Also, when I see the ape boss doing his red attack, the drop kick one, I got time to lay down imposing stab so he runs right into it, and still time the deflect.
Stone is stronk (say that in a deep Russian accent) in this game.
I got the first phase pretty reliably but I have to do basically a no hit run since he one shots me with 70% of attacks, and 100% of them drain all my spirit.
Paused for now til I come up with a better plan :D
P.S. Are all NG+ bosses +5 morale?
