Switch Pro Controller Prompts?
Why in the world is it reversed?! It's horrible. I want to puke! Does anyone know if it's just because I'm using a PowerA Pro Controller? Or do I really have to use my Xbox controller to get CORRECT prompts? :cozycastondeath:

You need to change both the steam controller setting AND the in-game setting or it causes conflicts. So, while not in game, click controller options on steam, disable the setting in the switch controller section, THEN you change the in-game one.

It's because of the steam controller software.

Someone at valve thought reversing the buttons at the software level when it detects a switch controller was a good idea.

Ah, thanks for letting me know Seamus! I'll mess with Steam and if that won't do it, I'll switch controllers! :)

Somebody else disabled Nintendo controller support in the game properties. Probably would've been better than me manually swapping every button around.

Well, I had it disabled in Steam, didn't help though. Guess it's time to use the 'ole Xbox controller. -sigh-

Even if you disable it in steam that doesn't change the fact that "B" is now confirm instead of "A" being confirm though? On the switch the "right"(A) button is confirm while the "down"(B) button is cancel, whereas xbox/ps is the opposite

That's why there's a toggle in the options for the game.

Steam's thing just screws that up.

Yea, that's what I meant. No matter what, the prompts don't actually align with Switch controls. It was driving me insane, so I just swapped to Xbox.

Now I just gotta figure out how to lock on. UGH.

Thanks buddy! I was wondering why it wasn't working. Had to untick the second Nintendo option in Steam, not the 1st or both, just the 2nd. Thanks!

Cheers.

As an aside, these issues are why I switched over to using betterjoy for my switch controller.

The API allows developers to switch between those modes, but CAPCOM almost certainly has not read those docs.

You can change this in the games menu. I have it set up like my Switch version.

Even if that's the case, it should not be on by default.
