What's the deal with the underwater city?
Just finished that "epic quest" to save the underwater city, but the city itself seems to be useless. There are lots of shops that only accept dublons, but no obvious way to get these dublons. It also has no farm. So its whole purpose is just to walk around and watch the scenery? Filler for some obscure achievement? Or do I miss something?

There is the quest board with daily quests which give doubloons. Yeah the area looks interesting but is useless. There's no furniture to buy and ocean themed furniture is only from DLC. And there are 2 romanceable characters there but they also are the only ones that don't give morning gifts when you marry them like all the rest do, so are the worst to marry. There is also the fruit trees in the area which are tied to recipes. Once I married and divorced the 2 characters for max hearts achievements I don't go there anymore. You can also buy a staff to get an achievement but I haven't bothered to do that yet.

You can trade all currencies for dubloons left from the "king".

Scallo-Papaya smoothies will give you a flat amount of mana (1? 1.5? Something like that) every time you drink one. There are a bunch of other recipes that add other stats.
Also, pets & mounts, armor and staffs that add to your various magic stats.

Brinestone Deeps doesn't have mounts. There is no mount store there.
It does have a few pets. You can only get mounts in game from Nelvari store, Seasonal mounts in Sun Haven, the arcade in Withergate, a couple from quests and the craftable box mount.
There's foods for sale for doubloons that give stat increases when you eat them. You might want to eat some of those. Then there's fruit trees you can plant on your other farms. Any fruit tree can grow on any farm. I planted all 4 types of trees at Sun Haven farm. Meaning SH, Nel'vari, Withergate, and Underwater fruit trees. There's a store that sells gear for magic users. There's a pet store.
