[SPOILERS] Offer or fight Dynus?
I was wondering which is easier or which do you prefer? I am leaning towards fighting him because it seems easier but I also am wondering if I make peace with Dynus because thats pretty much what you've been told to do the rest of the game. Offering all those items seems like such a time sink though, do you get any kind of reward at the end other than just progressing the story? Wondering peoples opinions

Pretty sure it's the same either way for rewards. Even if you fight him you can still make the offerings and you get the same rewards from completing the quest either way you choose to complete it.

If you fight him you get to choose a reward and you can come back and fight him again and again to eventually get every reward. If you complete the offers you get a item after each alter is completed.

The fact is you can fight him and still complete the alters afterward. That's what I did. Doing so maximizes rewards because you get the alter rewards and can also get every reward he offers for fighting him.

Would this mean I could do all the altars but one then start fighting him to get those rewards and then finish the final altar to maximize this still?

At this point i question if its even possible beating him without invincibility toggled on.

I have the strongest Crossbow in the game and deal like 5 dmg per shot. I have over 100 Spell damage and my spells tickle him.

I would posit that perhaps you're not meant to beat him so easily at the point you're at.

As a case example, you say you have over 100 spell damage and your spells tickle him- But just how far in the game are you? I'm at 101 spell damage and just began summer of my first year. (Granted, 40 minute days and I spent all my community tokens on buying more spell damage. But even still, on 20 minute days that'd just put me at first of fall on first year)

You likely just need more levels, better equipment, better rings, and more stat accumulation from food and other sources. As I understand it, the boss in question is basically the Final boss of the game, and could very well be intended to take 2-3+ ingame years to defeat.

I am Lv 50+ in all proffesions except Farming. I got Rels Mark and a Wedding Ring with all 3 levels into its passive. I got the full Autum Armour Set and the passive that boosts attack for wearing a full set of same armour. Also 1 Mithril Ring with +3 for all attacks.

I am one week away from my first years Winter.

The only thing at this point i could upgrade further would be my armour sets into full Sunite with Bonus Crafting stats. But that few bonus attack wont really do much of a difference.

The equipment I was wearing when I beat him was:

Armor set from altars.
Butterfly Ring That Absorbs an attack every 30 sec.
Sunite Ring.
.2 hp/s Necklace from chest in Withergate Subway(Pretty sure that's where it's from)
Griffin Feather Cloak
Adventurer Keepsake
Reltar Crossbow

Then I just had a lot of hp restorative and made buff potions before going in.
There should be an option to kill the dragon. He attacked us, so we should be able to take him out.

I beat him first (with invincibilty) and then did the alters after. Without invincibility the alters give equipment that you can use to beat the dragon. Like an armor set and other items. When you talk to the dragon you through conversation have the choice of giving him an offering or challenging him to a fight. So you can do the alters to get the items and then challenge him to a fight.

He is is the final boss, its supposed to be a challenge.

The only "challenge" here is how long it takes filling your inventory with healing items and just stand still while firing. Hes literally just a bullet sponge at this point.

The figth is the option for the players who are not interested in grind for the offering, so i think having to withstand a few minutes of dodging bullets while you go through his hp is reasonable enough.

So instead they grind for buff food and healing items.

No matter what choice you pick its gonna be a grind. And with only 5dmg per hit it aint just a few minutes unless you use the cheesy tactic i mentioned before by just outhealing him.
