Worth it at current state?
Hey guys,
my friend an I would love to play this game since we both were also fans of Stardew Valley.
However, reading through some comments made us a little bit insecure about buying the game at the current state because some comments state that the game should not have been released as a full game yet. It seems to be unpolished in some ways.
Any comment on that would be appreciated :brownchicken:

As someone who has put 60 hours into it, I advice you to wait. It's playable in its current state (for me at least) and I've had decent fun, but I think I'd have had a better experience if I had waited for more polish/bug fixes and for some features to be implemented.

For example, I really don't understand how the story epilogue can be on the "future content" list when the game has supposedly had its full release.

Thank you!
Sadly, I guess you are right.
Hope they will polish the game soon :P

If you can get it on sale, I'd say it's mostly worth it, you'll get a few hours of a good time.

But I'd say at this time is still unpolished (lots of not game breaking but annoying bugs that only have a fix in-game forcing you to reset things like relationships) and unbalanced (the game have too many pointless stuff)

The potential is there if the devs manage to find a way to tie everything together and fix the bugs.

I really hope that all of these "minor things" that add up to some sort of general major issue will be resolved.

One question to the farm actually: From the trailers it seemed as if your farm ist quite small and limited. Is that true? Or can you uprgade your farm regarding space for instance?

You can't upgrade but I'd say the space is enough. Also you'll have 3 farms anyway. For a farming game I wouldn't say this is focused on farming per se either, you just need...the crops, for things.

Sounds fine actually.

You're better off just buying Rune Factory 4 if you haven't yet. Sun Haven has the depth of a puddle.

Core of the game is fun - but you won´t make mistake to wait for a while.

I need to update my review and make a better list of active bugs in the game. While the game is fun and has great promise it needs a lot of work, and how badly the 1.0.1 patch broke the game has me worried about the devs tbh

number 1 bug that comes to mind for me is enemies hurt you after you kill them and walk into thier corpse (some even after corpse despawn). This shouldnt be a thing

number 2 game is listed as 2 mb, but is actually 10 mb. imo thats a big deal that its so way off

A few bugs etc. one of my favorite farming sims currently. There is way to much to do vs information etc. and currently a bunch of stuff was just added with release without really being balanced around anything but making midgame harder and endgame easier :P

I want to say yes, but I just can't. At least not yet. There are a lot of interesting ideas in the game, but they really need to be fleshed out a bit more, and there are a few non-game breaking, but still highly annoying, bugs. Like completing the museum right now is basically impossible as certain items either aren't in the game or there's a bug in the RNG that prevents them from spawning.

While there's less focus on multiplayer, if you've got $20-25 to spend, I'd suggest My Time at Sandrock. Same basic concept, farming/life sim, but even while it's still in EA, Sandrock is significantly more developed and polished. Or if you have Stardew and haven't tried Stardew Valley Expanded yet, that's another excellent way to pass some time. Circle back to Sun Haven after they've hit 1.2 or 1.3 and reassess then.

The farm you start with is pretty big but during the story you unlock 2 more farms each with their own currency. So you can focus on one farm while your friend focuses on another, if you were asking because you wanted there to be enough space for you and your friend to each be able to do your own thing.

All right.
Thank you guys for all the constructive criticism.
I will just wait until most of the bugs are corrected.
Have fun and stay safe!
