The worst/funniest thing about this is that the achievement icon for creating an elf character is a pair of pointed ears. Wish I could actually have those in game.

Funny thing, in this game, angels can be wingless now (having in mind we have humans in this game too) but "elves" nope!

I think elves are leaning into fae concept of elf.

Okay but even then elves are usually depicted as having pointed ears, especially nowadays. And as I said, the achievement icon for making an elf character is literally a set of pointy ears.

What I would have preferred is if they let us be a short little Santa elf. The race could then get a racial crafting bonus of some kind.

i feel like dwarves would be a better fit

@OP - This entirely depends on where you are basing the "Elf" claim from.

Most of us, would refer to Elves as the ones with long ears, beauty standards etc.

However, there is also on outlier set that indeed does fly. Elves are part of the fairy race. Fairies themselves have wings, so you can see where this concept comes from.

So depending on which lore you actually read, this is where the difference will come from. I know of both winged and wingless elves from different sources.

When talking about myths though, keep in mind at all times, its not real. So, lore can be different and still not be "wrong".

Which is great if you have the option to get the wings off, like people have been asking since...day one.

But you don't while in-game all the elves are wingless.

An option to remove wings would be great so you can either make an elf or a fairy.

News flash, not every elf/dwarf/orc is consistent across all forms of media. That's what we call artistic liberties.

well basing off of the other elves in the game, the race in game is long eared non wing elves

On race select, the upper half shows a green-hued skintone. That is missing from skin color selection, among other options that should be there, like dark elves, (Which, SPOILER: also exist) they also show elven ears. Demon, the upper one again shows purple demonic skin, but we cannot make that choice

The problem for elves specifically is because all elves along of the story that you come to encounter, have long pointed ears. Only your own character does not, so excusing it with elf not being the same across media or myth is clearly not a valid argument to make.

The way it looks it appears more implied that the game suggests we are half of something with the lack of selection for years and certain color choices that would make sense.

I have no idea why you are focusing on the ears, when I was talking about wings.

Short ear elves are indeed a thing, but in a very small niche grouping of the culture.

I am not disagreeing with adding the option to add wings or ears, what im saying is the actual "lore" behind elves is mixed and isnt able to be concluded with "They are this way". There is multiple mediums that even depict elves with short ears.

Elves have long ears
Elves have short ears

Both are TECHNICALLY correct, depending on which lore you follow. There is no right or wrong really.

But this is not not about general media or being right or wrong but Sun Haven customization tho. Getting into a media depicting of fantasy elements is very pointless.

In game, elves are wingless with pointy ears, save ONE that I remember in Nel'vari, almost every elf looks like that. But there's no way to make your own character like that, because they locked you from a wingless option.

Same with the pointy ears, demon race, fantasy colours... The amari race, only one of them is able to choose if they want the animal face or not.

They were careless with customization too, that's it.

I agree with Estefy... i would like wingless elf... but no i can't do it, but a demon and an angel can do it. That make no sense for me...

Same goes for the ears they are very small pointy but u can only see it then u take the long hair in the 2. row. 2 - 3 different ears are not really hart to put as an option they have done it already... why not for the customization?

Plus i wish there is an option i can put off the face from the cat amari why only the dog can do it for example?
